Acrobat Reader seems to be unable to print A3 sized document on A3 sized paper.
Maybe I should have just simplified that to "Acrobat Reader".
Apple Pages seems to be unable to print in colour. I had to export to PDF and print that.

Have you performed the sacrificial chicken ritual in the pale moonlight ?
Incantations, curses, and bloodletting are useful precursors to the main event .
The fact that the new iPad Air M3 has now been released and the Apple Pen 2 is again not compatible with it, but the one with the USB-C is. Technically incomprehensible, but commercially so. It's time for this bean counter cook (😁) to retire, but who knows what will come next?

Someone I know got caught up buying from a FB scam site. Milla Wellington.
Looks like a very nice site but really just a china drop ship site. Google above and you get quite a few unhappy customers.
Ordered 29th Jan. Complained 13 days later asking about order, and they assure us order is on the way, then they get an email saying how their factory got flooded etc.
We then get an email on Feb 17th saying order is on the way. Ex china. In the mean time we cancel that credit card to play it safe. That causes issues with services such as prime video etc.
March the 7th was surprised to get refund notification (shopify) and was highly surprised to see the money back in new credit card account.
OK to be fair they did refund, but is most certainly not a NZ company as they claim, so be careful and avoid. Person concerned has learned a lesson on FB ads!
Conference calls (video calls) that I must attend, but get nothing from and have no input into.
A waste of my time and ultimately costing my employer money they could spend on maybe paying better annual bonuses.

I never went to meetings without an agenda. After a complaint about me, I explained it to my boss, he realised it after hearing my arguments and the matter was settled for me and it was known everywhere that I don't come without an agenda. 😁

kingdragonfly: I guess the New Zealand DIA no longer wants to hear about spam emails.
Their link to "Report email spam" has been dead for about a month.
https://www.dia.govt.nz/Spam-Report-Spam
redirects to https://www.reportspam.co.nz/
I always suspected that reporting email spam to them was political theatre, going into a large wastebasket.
It's also a bit concerning that their enforcement page seems to imply that no enforcement action has been undertaken in the last year and a half.
Having said that, I have a zero tolerance approach to spam on my main email account so always report it to DIA and to the sender's email provider. My approach seems to be effective as I only receive a handful of spam emails each year. I find that Mailchimp in particular is pretty effective at dealing with bad behaviour by their clients.
Furthermore, doesn't spam count as an "obstruction of commerce", given how much it slows down the global Internet?

Ah. Not the page itself, the link off it.
Got it. I've sent a query to the DIA.
Hopefully whoever's answering hasn't been given the sack yet.

Probably was. I haven't received a reply, not even an acknowledgement.

jamesrt:I get this a lot from our staff. You need to check all the options, not just for the print job itself but also the printer settings/properties/preferences
Acrobat Reader seems to be unable to print A3 sized document on A3 sized paper.
Maybe I should have just simplified that to "Acrobat Reader".
Most commonly however it’ll be the setting of matching the set document size.

On MacOS, Acrobat complains if you go into either of the paper or advanced [I think; not at my computer right now], and more or less says "don't do this as these are OS options that I don't have any control over"; so a) there is a strong suggestion not to use them; and b) they don't actually seem to do anything as Acrobat ignores and/or overrides them.
There was no option in the Acrobat print dialog to actually set paper size. There was an option about using paper size that matches the document size - it didn't work.
I must have tried 5 or 6 different ways of printing in Acrobat; nothing worked.
Printing via MacOS preview was perfect the first time.
Hence my comment.
Whangamata rubbish bin collection tags.
In Whangamata, you have to attach a tag around the handle of your wheelie bin to get it collected. When the truck empties the bin the tag is automatically torn off by the lid opening. This is something small that really annoys me because:
This is user pays and I generally support user pays but this implementation is just poor and the price is excessive. The district council take the easy way out and contract it all to a 3rd party who can get away with charging an arm and a leg.
Instead of the stupid tags there should be a barcode label on the bin, mapped to a matching address record, and billed onto the rates bill.
Don't even get me started on hanging rubbish bags on poles and definitely don't get me started on the "gullinator" fiasco.

I suggest an RFID tag instead. It's too easy to copy your neighbour's barcode and use it when they're on holiday.
Auckland is moving away from the tag system, with rubbish collection being included in rates across the entire region.

Christchurch has an RFID system to ensure that the bin being collected is presented at the correct address. This also prevents collecting multiple bins from the same address, which they are not entitled to.
