Could be, but TBF so is the continued presence of pretty much everyone else on the plane.

I have sadly accepted that trying to ban all other people from my flights is not really feasible, so if one accepts that, then for the most part the myriad of little things people do with their existence has to be borne with stoicism.

I mean, its not like they make a noise or anything.

Northern Hemisphere ones cannot be used here and vice versa as they will not know which way to spin. If you take one on a plane and cross the equator all hell would happen as the thing becomes dysfunctional due to hemisphere disorientation resulting a catastrophic cataclysm

This has happened with literally every childhood fad, ever. Marbles. Slap sticks. Tamagotchi. You name it.

However to my mind the correct approach is to treat it as a learning opportunity and set rules around it to avoid the real issue. For example as at our child's school, spinners are not allowed to be used during class time, as it is with personal devices, etc.

The other stuff - arguments and disagreements over lost or stolen what have you - are great opportunities to develop social skills. Taking the thing away doesn't really solve the underlying issue which is that the kids should respect one another and their property, and trust the other kids to do the same in the majority.

More like school is for free childcare by people employed by the govt under the guise of teaching but what I can say from experience in schooling is that

- fewer kids conform than non conform

- more don't listen to their teachers than do

Maybe kids should be sent to compulsory army training. That'll make up for the lack of corporal punishment.

Here's a more reasoned response to the issue than a simple ban:

Fidget spinners are used to teach lessons in this classroom

Having been a teacher in a previous life, I understand the value of latching on to different ways to engage kids - and often its these types of approaches that can work with those very kids who may otherwise been switched off a more 'conventional' approach...

Ok, so with your 1 example, I'll provide my example. I am a conformist, and I have never earned minimum wage (since entering the workforce as an adult) nor do I ever expect to. I would be exceptionally surprised if one person who knows me (or has met me) thinks of me, or my personality as "drone like". I also for the record have never worked in a production line as a primary form of employment.

So we are one from one.

There are *some* ADHD sufferers who go on to become succesful creative types like Steve Jobs, and there are some conformists who go onto production lines. Your comment was silly and generalized and incorrect.
