But do they ship to NZ, if if so what is the shipping? Shoes I buy local, as you can take them back if you have a problem with size, or if they break prematurely
Unless it's Nike. I've discovered that the retailer will just get aggro and tell you that isn't going to happen if you take back prematurely broken Nike shoes. Won't be buying that brand again (and sure as hell not from Foot Locker - worst service EVER).
Individual stores will usually try to fob you off but if you stick to your guns at get the contact details for head office and work through their process from there you will get a better result.
I purchased some Hush puppies for work from Hannahs in January but by July they were falling apart, these had only light usage eg: mon-fri, drive to work, desk job in office, brief walk at lunch etc.
Took them back to the store they said "normal wear and tear" I said no way $150 shoes aught to last more than 6 months of light usage, got the head office number from them.
Rang head office, they sent out a courier ticket to send them back for inspection asked me to write a description of the problem. I wrote a fairly standard note basically saying: shoes costing x should last longer than y when used for z - not fit for purpose etc..
They agreed and sent me a cheque for the price of the shoes, this is what the fear of the CGA and disputes tribunal is for.
