Lias:
Books/Games I'd like to see become movies/tv shows
- A Canticle for Leibowitz
- Emberverse series
- The Postman (without Kevin Costner!)
- Fallout Series (apparently a tv series is coming)
quickymart:Forgot to add, The Day of the Triffids - the 1981 BBC version.
Batman:
MikeB4:
This is not a genre I like. The plots are often very similar with predictable characters.
May i suggest Warm Bodies
"There's a lot of ways to get to know a person. Eating her dead boyfriend's brains is one of the more unorthodox methods, but..."
Really enjoyed that movie.
Handsome Dan Has Spoken.
Handsome Dan needs to stop adding three dots to every sentence...
Handsome Dan does not currently have a side hustle as the mascot for Yale
*Gladly accepting donations...
Apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic are two very different genres.
MadEngineer:afe66: ThreadsBest.
Do NOT go into watching this one unprepared. it's grim.

See also The Day After Tomorrow which is an American equivalent. I saw this probably at around 8 or 9 years old and the scenes of people being lit up like x-rays was burned into my eyes.
Yes I've seen both of those, but the British one is far better - although I do think the American one was a pretty good effort too.

I sincerely hope you mean "The day after"
I really like the old BBC TV show from the 70s "Survivor"
It's almost comfort TV for me . . . although, if you cast a critical eye over it while watching, it's actually garbage. 😂
Well not really end of the world.
Set in a time when the average person's world was very small.
So it would have seemed like it
"Black Death" (2010), directed by Christopher Smith and starring Sean Bean and Eddie Redmayne
Set during the time of the first outbreak of bubonic plague in England, a young monk is given the task of learning the truth about reports of people being brought back to life in a small village.
It is a bit uneven and no blockbuster but a decent watch, which these days can be rare enough.
fav post apocalyptic film in recentish years . . .
The Road

This was remade in the 80's as well, still an enjoyable watch.
Dratsab:
- The Amtrak Wars
Good call.. I've re read that series many times!

gzt:quickymart: I just finished re-watching The Quiet Earth and it's a good Kiwi movie, although I never understood the ending (did anyone?)
I'd like to see this again. It was in pop culture recently. I'd prefer 4K - it deserves it. Ending? It's a good start for a sequel or a series.
