Trade Me buyers who immediately hit Buy Now (a legal contract to purchase at the price stated) and then when they get the goods home, after inspecting at pickup, decide that maybe it wasn't as good as expected and ask for this:
"Your address is really far away from me, so an appropriate discount would be highly appreciated to avoid returning. This will save our time".
1. I am not a business - I don't do discounts, I don't do returns and I don't like being called out by email on a purchaser that has developed a bad case of buyer's remorse.
2. The issues will apparently disappear if I take down my negative feedback (which was changed from positive feedback when the issues began)
3. I can't now change my feedback to neutral or positive - only remove it (which stops me being able to then add feedback at a later date if it goes well or badly)
4. I don't like getting text messages ordering me to take down my negative feedback.
5. The listing was a laptop and the apparent issue is white spots on the screen...personally, we never experienced this and I do wonder, based on the photos I have been sent, if these have been caused by over-vigorous cleaning by the buyer (is this even possible?) as they are not so much spots as a damaged pixel look.
6. No questions were asked before or during the transaction - only after...I am not sure this person gets that. Their feedback is mostly positive but there are a couple of negatives that would lead me to believe that this might be a tactic used to get bargains occasionally.
FYI - this was an old i7 8Gb laptop, with some scratches on the case, clearly pictured with a shot of the screen on the listing, showing a normal screen with no damage. It sold for $225.00 - I don't think that was a lot, but I didn't force anyone to buy it.
