Hi there,
I have a Daikin 2.5kW split (model FTXS25LVMA). I am not sure if the brand new system I have just installed, functions properly. I also have a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries 7kW split (in Lounge, installed 3 years ago) and I expected the behavior to be the same. Here is what I want to clarify:
When the MHI is set on a certain speed (not auto), that speed does not change regardless how far you are from the set point. It is the compressor output (I guess) the one which varies, to deliver more or less heat / cool, as needed.
The new Daikin (in bedroom) appears to stop indoor unit completely (but flaps remain open) when set point is reached. When it needs to heat again, it will start the indoor fan. Problem is that this in my opinion makes the unit un-useable in a bedroom at night, as the start/stop is disturbing, as opposed to a continuous noise which you can go to sleep with.
Even when set on a certain speed (out of the 5 levels available), it stops when reaches the set point. I agree with this behavior if speed is "auto" but not when in a "manual" mode. Is this how the system is supposed to work?
Even on "night quiet" (moon+tree symbol on remote), the fan starts/stops as described above. It is generally quieter when it runs (I could definitely sleep with that) even if there is not much air coming out of it, but once in a while it starts on higher speed, even if for 5 seconds, then stops. Enough to keep you awake!! Or it starts on this quiet mode and there is warm air generated, all good, runs for let's say 1-2min and then speeds up for 5 sec (noisy) and shuts down the fan (flaps remain open, green light is on).
There are no error codes confirmed by the remote controller.
The intelligent feature is turned off, no Econo, no Comfort are activated, just basic heating mode.
Please do not send me to "take it with the installer" as I could not get advice from him."I just install them mate, I did not design it" kind of reply...Your opinion will be much appreciated and will not involve you in any way, you have no responsibility for the advice you give. I just want a thought from someone knowing these systems.
Many thanks in advance
