Anyone else had issues with the crap customer service from YouShop when things don't go as planned? They just seem really unhelpful at resolving issues.
Recently I ordered a tent from Amazon, was blocked due to being a dangerous item. Took 3+days to find out it's actually blocked due to being damage, not dangerous. Took 3 weeks to actually get clear photos of the damage, as after lots of prompting they sent me ones that were just plain blurry and incorrect time stamp. So lots of phone calls to NZPost, lots of vague replies about the actual damage, lots of blame on the USA warehouse, lots of promises to follow up, tried to escalate to someone higher up, and one phone rep snapped at me telling me she didn't have time to deal with my complaint as she finished work 10 mins ago! Eventually got assigned to someone useful, but it took a long time and a lot of stamping of feet. Luckily the merchant was happy to take it back (surprisingly!).
This is an example of what they sent me to assess the damage 🤨 :
I now ordered a tent fly+pole from Amazon. Weighs bugger all. Length around 0.4-0.5m.
Arrived Youshop in a crazy long box of 1m. YouShop displays volumetric weight of around 10Kg. I ask them why they haven't repacked. Quick response of it contains manufacturers packaging and removing it may result in damage in transit, they not liable then, etc. I queried it, especially given what the item is. No response after a couple of days, so I pay the royal sum to ship to NZ (over $80!) as I need it, and didn't want to be stung by the GST changes.
A week later they reply and said repack is only by customer request and they only do if if the customer understand the risks and signs a waiver. There is nothing on their website to indicate the process to do a repack. Given the only info I have is that it contains manufacturer's packing I don't have enough info to make a informed decision, and I don't want another 3 week saga Plus the parcel is already on it's way anyway.
It arrived today. The pictures speaks volumes and clearly shows they have examined it. I've emailed them querying how they came to the conclusion after examining the box that repack could result in damage, but I expect no reply.
Has anyone had any experience with ShipIt? Certainly won't be touching YouShop again. Or other carriers?
Cheers
