Hey everyone,

I'm interested in purchasing a specific gaming laptop from Newegg, as none of the laptop companies here in New Zealand has it. I was wondering, has anyone here made a purchase from Newegg before? Newegg has been recommended by many YouTubers, so I assume they're reliable.

I've bought RAM from them in the past (needed something a bit rare for a server). For something like a laptop I'd want to be sure that the warranty works here.

Newegg are reputable and have been around a long time. I am unsure how warranties would work or how your CGA rights would be affected. My general advice is not to buy a laptop overseas if it's your primary device as warranty claims could be difficult and or time consuming.

When buying from Newegg make sure you are "buying" a product from Newegg that is sold AND Shipped by Newegg.

Newegg the website also has 3rd party sellers just like amazon, you can see on the top left to toggle options on and off.

No clue about warranty/CGA and NZ.

Newegg got quasi-bought-out a few years ago, and that allegedly lead to much worse customer service, support, and the mess of Amazon-style 3rd party sellers. They used to be much more reputable.

CGA does not apply to purchases made overseas.

Interestingly, the equivalent law in Australia does attempt to impose requirements on overseas sellers... doesn't make Amazon behave properly towards customers though.

I tried buying a 6700xt from newegg it was shiped and sold by them, and ANZ blocked the transaction for suspected fraud. I ended up just going to pbtech in the end.
