Does anybody know of a store in the Wellington region that currently has cherry coke?     I've been searching around and while I've found various listings for webstores, they always turn out to be not currently available.  I figured though there might be a dairy somewhere etc that has some?

Have you considered buying Cherry syrup and adding to coke with perhaps with some ice and mixing?

Lambton Goods (Lambton Squaere) used to have it - last time I visited I noticed the Mexican Coca-Cola there too. You can contact them here to check.

Thanks for the suggestions.   It sounds like some good places to try.      If I was doing it for myself  I might try the adding syrup route,  but since this is a surprise for somebody who likes cherry coke.  I wouldn't want to risk not matching the taste profile exactly.

Currently out of stock, but really nice people, you could drop them a line and ask when they're expecting stock?

Having had cherry coke in the US, the eyeballs rolling to the back of their head from the sugar hit will override any slight variations in taste.

Edited to add: Just remembered, the guy who introduced me to it said that before Coke made it everyone used to DIY it from standard Coke and cherry syrup, and it was the popularity of people doing it that got Coke to make it commercially.  So it really is just Coke + syrup.

I used to get the imported stuff till they went all silly and stopped the import of the zero options. The UK stuff sometimes comes up at places but its horrid compared to the US sourced one both in plain and zero form. Same problem with Dr Pepper. UK just cant make a decent version of it and they taste all weird compared to the US ones.
