Hi there, today I went to open up my phone jacks to see if I could find what was affecting my DSL speeds, and when I opened up the (I'm assuming) master jack, I could see that 6 wires were connected, but couldn't see into the jack properly and I pulled the faceplate and 4 wires popped out of their slots.
Now I don't know where each one was connected. It has also disconnected my internet (using a tethered phone at the moment). There are still 2 wires connected, a red one which is in slot 2, and a white one in slot 5.
There is two cables leading into the jack, one has red, blue and white, wire coming in (the red and white ones are the ones that are still connected.
The other cable has white, black and orange wires coming in (none of which are connected). There is also a white wire, and a yellow wire coming through which aren't 'bundled' like the other cables.
I've been searching the internet for diagrams of some sort to show which wires go where, but can't seem to find one that matches mine.
Any idea of which wires go where? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, the jack is a Telecom jack, and has a '2' on the corner of the faceplate.
