Hi, my cable from my router to the wall socket is too short and I want to buy a new longer one
I'm on VDSL
The code on the current cable is n53 c85 0014 of that helps
Both ends of the current cable look identical
Cheers

it is more than likely an RJ12 plug onto a RJ12 plug on a flat ribbon cable
generaly if it is too short you move the router closer to the socket or move the socket closer to the router
You can get longer ones but the longer the flat ribbon cable is the worse your routers performance can be ( try to keep it under a couple of metres if you can - like the original, 5m is ~~ok, 10m pushing it, 10+ move the router or socket
get two new rj12 connectors and make a new cord using cat5e thus keeping the twisted pair and hopefully keeping your throughput.
id do a reboot of the router and write down the stats, SNR/DB/SPEED before and after swapping cords, you may find it still syncing within spec.

looks like rj45 to rj12
Look up rj45 and rj12 on wikipedia and learn about the different types of plug and how they are labelled/named.
Takes about 20 minutes to learn about something new and its useful stuff to know.
(I did this when trying to make cables for my weather station)
