Well, thanks to this thread I've found that Authy has a Windows app!
The annoying thing, though, is it seems the only login option is using the master password each and every time - no PIN or fingerprint, both of which Bitwarden (as a comparison) supports. Or am I looking in the wrong place?
Do you mean on the desktop app? I am not asked for anything when I open it.
Also, if you use a password manager to store 2FA then you are defeating the 2FA proposition. The ideal situation is to have two different apps, one for passwords and another one for 2FA. If one is compromised the other factor is still secure.

Yes, the desktop app; this is what I get:
Nowhere in settings can I find an option to use an alternative to the master password to log in each time the app is started.
The comparison with Bitwarden is in relation to the login options it provides, not conflating the two aspects of 2FA vs passwords (it's a fair comparison in that I am frequently need to use the two apps in succession in order to access a website or app). The Bitwarden Windows app links into Windows Hello, much easier and quicker than entering a master password. The Bitwarden Chrome plugin also allows the setting of a PIN.
I have "Enable Master Password" off on my desktop app.

Brilliant; I had enabled this thinking it was necessary to unlock initially (but that was a secondary step). Works as I want now, thanks!
xpd: ... but I cannot for the life of me find anywhere on my MS account where to generate a text or QR code ...
Here is an easy to remember URL: aka.ms/setupMFA Btw, aka.ms/MFAsetup also works.
Both are case-insensitive. You have to be authenticated / logged in to generate the code.

This made me curious, so I counted my 2FA - currently at 135. I wouldn't want to lose a phone and having a desktop application makes it a lot easier.
Thanks for tip. Can't believe googles one doesn't sync between devices.
