Hi guys. I'm currently having an issue with my desktop computer. I recently purchased a new motherboard which could support my AM2 processor (clears away cobwebs) and DDR2-800 ram that also allowed me to fully support my graphics card. Unfortunately, it's not such a great performance increase as I'd hoped considering I just upgraded from a PCIE-1.0 motherboard

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+
MOBO: ASRock N68C-GS FX
RAM: 4Gb (2x2Gb) Transcend DDR2-800
GPU: Asus EAH5770 1Gb

Any ideas?

Just seems like the graphics card is still running at version 1.1 speeds when it SHOULD be running at 2.0

Theres an easy way to tell if it is indeed running at 2.0 or still at 1.0. Download GPU-Z and look in the Bus Interface field.

What games are you playing? There will be a slight increase in performance but its only going to be marginal, i suspect in the 10-20% range, if you were hoping for a 50% increase in performance i think you may be disappointed.

I haven't seen any increase in speed while playing World of Warcraft. I usually get 30fps with graphics on high and dx11 turned on. I'm still getting this 30fps with the new mobo. I'm not at home right now, but I installed HWinfo32 onto my pc last night and read the bus speed as 2.5%. Since the rest of my specs are fairly alright, Battlefield 3 was my main reason to attempt this upgrade. And since my BF3 kept crashing after 5minutes of gameplay on the old mobo, was hoping that this would make some form of difference. Have to get the gamefiles though.

so upon checking GPU-Z, it says my ATI Radeon HD5770 is only running at in PCIE 1.1. Anyway to fix this? Latest drivers installed as of yesterday.
