Hi,
I've got me a second hand Sapphire 6970 2GB Vietnam Edition, it is absolutely huge!, as an upgrade for my GTX460.
However, to my dismay, but deservedly so for not doing proper research, I found out that my 550W Lian-Li PSU only has two 6 pin connectors, which were a perfect fit for GTX, but 6970 requires a 6 pin and 8 pin connector.
I've searched the net on how to bypass this problem, and I can see people have all sorts of solutions, like getting an add-on, extension, plug the 6 pin into 8 pin anyway, or use 2 molex to 8 pin connector that came with the card.
But most people simply said get a new PSU that comes with 8 pin connector.
However, since all that information out there doesn't strictly apply on my rig, I was wondering if people here could offer advice?
I'm packing AMD x4 630 2.8Ghz Quad, on Asus M4A77td Pro Mobo, with 4GB 1333 ddr3 and 1TB sata2 HD. Remaining PCI slots are empty, just the GPU.
Thanks.
