I know people are going to tell me I should have gotten rid of XP years ago but I have a few machines that do a specific task that I dont want to upgrade.
Is there anyway that I could set something up that would block any traffic going to or from the internet but still allow local network traffic only?

Smoothwall Express will accomplish this as will a number of other firewalls.  You could set one up on one of your old XP boxes.

You probably would have to use a router with this specific functionality. For example adding "Folio" (or the corresponding IP address) to this list in my router blocks all access to the Internet:

Hmm my router runs Gargoyle, will have to see if it has it.
And if it does not? I dont really want to have a full pc running 24/7 and probably wont be able to because im not the one that pays powerbill.

Just assign static IP without default gateway.

^^That would be by far the simplest solution.



Gargoyle runs an iptables firewall so will be fairly simple to block outgoing traffic from a single IP.

Oh you have got to be joking, It is really as simple as setting static with no Gateway?

No one apart from me is going to use them, one of them is a picture frame that runs 7000 pictures and thats it.
The other is a jukebox pc of sorts that only does music.
I just dont want traffic to get to them from the internet but I still need network access to function locally.
