At the Black Friday sales i bought a copy of Office 365 personal to try out.   Up to then O had been using Outlook 2010  with outlook.com as my primary email service and Orcon ISP account as a secondary.  This all worked quite well apart from the slow sync at times to Outlook mail.

Upgrading to Office 365 was painless and   Outlook 2013 synced to both fine however I have an issue  that when I run up Outlook for the first time  every day the outlook.com  component only loads in the default folders  where as the Orcon account is OK.   (PST Vs OST??)  Even after the first sync attempt only the Inbox with new messages will be displayed.  I have to close Outlook down and open it again and then all the Outlook account folders are there except for the Inbox that has gone from the "Favorites"   area.  I have also on the same PC got Win 10 trial  with Office 2013 60 days trial on it and this works fine every time. Is there a difference between the two versions of Office ??  have looked online but can't see a solution to this.  I was going to upgrade the wifes PC when this account expires and buy a 365  Home version but she would be driven mad by this and say she wants to go back to Office 2010 that works..

Any suggestions.??
Thanx in advance..

PS: I do like the way Active Sync works on Outlook 2013  and that's why I would like to keep it  but will drop  Office 365 and go back to Office 2010 if I can't sort this by the end of next year..

Have you tried setting a new mail profile?

I have 365 working on Multiple computers with multiple types of accounts.. I had a couple of glitches when first setting up some but creating a new profile seems to iron out all the bugs.

I'm assuming you're meaning deleting the outlook.com account in the Mail area of the Control Panel, creating it again and runup Outlook and  it will re-sync the folders  with no loss of data??

Thanx Nathan,  I assume that I remove the old outlook.com profile first before adding it again or will outlook work with two profiles with the same account info??

just leave the old profile there, then you can go back to it

Outlook only uses 1 at a time

Thanx Nathan and mdooher that worked fine.  Finance committee acceptance fact increased 80%.  I can still trip outlook up  if i run it up before the PC has finished it's loading of services  but if I leave it until all is loaded then no problems.  Now I can safely delete the old outloot.com profile?? ..   The only thing that irks me about Active Sync is that if I get an email that I want to keep I can't drag it across to a folder  in the outlook profile but have to resend  it to myself or run up outlook 2010 and do it that way.  Same applies at work with exchange server and active sync..
