I have a document which was created by myself in word at home. A former employee allowed you to install Office 365 on my personal machine using the enterprise account.

I've since left that employer and built a new machine so can't access it anymore.

I need to update this document, it has things like textboxes which aren't enabled on the free version of 365.

I'm reluctant to purchase 365 to update a single document. Are there any free editors or wats of going this?

Not sure if it does textboxes but try Libre Office.

Office 365 trial
https://www.microsoft.com/en-nz/microsoft-365/try

You'll have 1 month to convert the docs into something compatible with the "free" version (online version ?)

365 Personal is cheap , $10 month . Thats the price of 2 coffees .

Cheers, at least I'd drink two coffees. Once updated I wouldn't need 365 again.

Solution was to find an old 2010 copy of Office. Still worked so boom problem solved for free.
