On several devices, I can input numbers (cells are formatted to display as a percentage) in Excel365 (browser) - and they appear in the right way around.

However, when using one specific device (Windows computer), the numbers appear backwards:

The first two numbers should be 95% and 100%. The third row was typed on another device and appears right.

Other people working on the same document (both desktop and browser) can type in the numbers with no problems.

I've opened another Excel365 document on the problematic device, in browser too, and numbers display there OK.

I looked at text orientation:

None of these match what is happening...

Any ideas what I need to look at next? I.e. why is it happening on this specific device and for this specific file, but other files on this device are OK, and the same file on other devices are OK?

Have you tried a different browser on the device that is causing issues?

Are the regional settings correct on the problematic computer? Not set to e.g. somewhere in the Middle East where they write from right to left?

Does that PC have Excel installed on it that you can try and open the spreadsheet in and see if it does the same thing?

Good suggestion, no I hadn't. Just did and it works fine on Chrome.
So - pointing to Firefox to be the culprit? As I've just realised that I use Chrome on other devices (with no problems) but Firefox on the problematic device...

Tested Firefox on other device (where using Chrome the Excel sheet is fine) - same issue is occurring.

So narrowed it down to Firefox browser as the culprit and not the device :)

Any ideas how to fix this?

3 workarounds I found:

a) Double-click the cell before you write

b) Press F2 before you write

c) Write into the formula bar

Yes - and no problem with it. So it seems it's Firefox.

These work, thank you!

Still annoying/strange it doesn't work as expected in Firefox browser, but Chrome or desktop Excel is OK.

Good guess! That is logical, but no - the settings are right on this computer. And as just discovered - it seems it's Firefox and not the device as I originally thought.

Mozilla will have to fix it.

Did you log into the same Mozilla account on both machines & have sync enabled? Try with no Mozilla account?

No, don't have accounts synced on Firefox across devices - still working that out (Recently started using Firefox)
