I have used Primo PDF for many years under Win 10.
However my PC imploded recently and I had to buy a new one. At the same time I moved to Win 11.

I downloaded and installed Primo PDF, but when  I tried to check the settings, I got the message below.
It didn't matter if I went Yes or No it continued to give an error message for each script, until there were no more scripts.

If I try to print (a Word document), again it goes through the same process.
I am able to print a PDF file, but I cannot be sure what quality.

I then tried a laptop with Win 10 and I get the same result, but to be fair, I am not sure that I ever tried to create a PDF file on the laptop.

The only common denominator is the Version of Word.
On the laptop it was always Microsoft 365, whilst on the PC it was Office 2016.
When I changed the PC, I installed Microsoft 365.

Any thoughts

It looks like a very old version of Primo PDF. Is this their most recent installer?

Yes, but the creators of Primo now have a new product - Nitro PDF which is a paid product - $287 US as a one of purchase for Nitro Pro or $17.25 US per month for Nitro Standard.
They don't offer Primo that I can see.

The version I downloaded came from CNET

I am trying to print a 200 page word document with photos, that will be printed

Are there any other PDF creators that give high quality?

Microsoft Word can save PDF directly.

All modern browsers can open and print PDF.

That error message is because the old software uses Internet Explorer to render some content, and it's now not available for that on Windows 11 anymore.

But yeah, see my reply above about creating and printing PDF.

You could go into your HOSTS file and add the line

127.0.0.1  www.gonitro.com

It would block communication to that host/domain so you cannot load the ad or whatever content it is trying to display.

Or you could block the programs access to the network using a Windows Firewall rule.

I looked at that and found that "Microsoft Print to PDF" printer in Windows 11 defaults to a DPI of 600x600. While it's possible to adjust the print quality settings in the printer properties to control image resolution and potentially reduce file size, the "Microsoft Print to PDF" printer does not offer granular DPI control for individual images.

Win2PDF is suggested as an alternative and that worked well

Thanks for your help

You're using very old language and terminology.  You don't need to print to pdf unless you have no other options.  You can adjust image fidelity and compression in the original doc in Word, then save as PDF, for example. Many other productivity apps also have native save/export as pdf too. You're not limited to a software printer anymore.

Unless I am misreading it, the only Save as PDF is to Adobe PDF.

I don't have a subscription to Adobe, so I am limited to using this once every 30 days.

That doesn't give scope for any proof reading or testing

There is the option to Save as Type PDF (*.pdf) in the standard Save As dialog window.
