Not found anything showing how to get stuff into the subject of the emails, need to do this so that when people reply the webstore will process them correctly and assign them to the orders.

Also the second problem is choosing an account to send with, it seems to only want to use the default one which means changing the default to the stores sales mailbox, sending, and then changing the default back again.

this is only an interum thing till I get some stuff done to send the emails from the store, but it will be daily for several weeks-a month or more as I have lots to do first to get it working.

Any pointers?

From your outline I would say you'd need something custom to grab those emails and then point them where you want them to go.

Someone else may know of some off the shelf software that does the same.  It seems too custom to me tbh.

Yeah, it looks like the email merge thing is a pretty lousy afterthought in office. Ah well. Just have to hope people quote the text as requested. Its mainly gmail users that have issues with that.

A lot of this can be handled in VBScript ... (being a very long time since I last groked it, though)

I would +1 an off the shelf solution ... taking into account anti-spam concerns (you did mention sales ...)

The emails are to existing customers about order status so no antispam issues to be worried about there, not emailing lists of randoms.

I will just perservere till we get html emails working properly from the webserver. Linking images means noone loads the damn things to read them.

Hrmm - didn't even think about that!

Huh?  Is the order status an Image on the server?  Or have I missed something crucial there?

No, it's emailing them instructions to track their order with pictures of what to click on the appropriate couriers website and how to arrange redelivery if they get a card left.

At the moment are dispatching from both trademe and a website so all things are scanned/C&P into excel when they are shipped and then I merge later on.

I would like to choose the account to send from based on which site the sale went thru but thats another thing for another time. If I get the site emailing then it will be a non issue.
