Hey

I am after a batch file or simlar that I can set for startup to redirect "Documents" on windows 7 to a Network folder.

I can't seem to write one that works on Windows 7. The current one I have only works on windows xp.

what I am after is redirect the my documents \ My Pictures folder to \\KA\%username% and \\KA\%username%\pictures respectivly.

Before you ask I know this could be done on Active directory but this company has 3 computers
which the users each use with identical usernames and passwords on each machine, but store there files on a NAS drive so they can be accessed on each machine.

I don't know how intensive this is for windows 7 but if someone could possibly write a batch file for me, it would be GREAT :D

Can't you just add another folder to the library, or do you actually need to move your My Documents folder?

I don't need to MOVE the my documents folder I just need the users to be able to their files on the NAS when they click my documents in the start menu.

If that makes any sense.

Load a registry file with the following:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders]
"Personal"="(location)"

This works but It asks to confirm adding the registry file every time you turn on the computer.

I can see myself getting called out often to "Fix" this "error message" by employees.

You need to use the /s option when you invoke regedit from the command line to hide that message
