I have happily survived using a plain old cell phone (Samsung W531) but now I am contracting and have ties to multiple organisations. Now is I have email accounts (and calendars) with 3 companies and I also have a personal calendar I maintain on GMail.

I plan to buy a PDA/phone in the next month to allow me to email on the move and for time management.

My main requirements for the device are:
  • Mobile Phone, SMS, etc
  • Mobile data access
  • Provide mobile access for a Laptop
  • Calendar - I need to sync the PDAs calendar from the multiple sources.
    • The trick is I do not believe I can combine them all togethor and then do one sync.
    • I am currently looking to see if I can export an ICal file via OWA (Outlook Web Access); http://www.peterkrantz.com/2006/exchange-to-ical-http/; to make me more mobile
  • Maybe the ability to view documents but that is what laptops are for.
I would appreciate any advise to a PDA/SmartPhone newbie
