I have recently bought a Compaq Ipaq 3970, I'm pretty much chuffed to bits with it but I have spent days and hours (I must be bloody thick) trying to transfer my calender, contacts, tasks and notes to my computer for back up using Active Sync and Microsoft Outlook, has anyone got any ideas how I can do this or has it already been posted to this site. I am getting really fustrated with it, so I feel I am not using my PDA and PC to the fullest.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Hi

It is very easy:
You must have Outlook 2000 or higher. Start Active Sync - your PDA should be connected. Go to the Tools->Options. On the Sync Options you should have checked the Contacts and other things to be synchronized.

That is all.

Angelika, you have to follow these steps:
  • Install ActiveSync
  • Reboot
  • Plug in the USB cable
  • Optional: using the Settings on your Pocket PC, change its name from the default Pocket_PC
  • Insert the Pocket PC into the cradle
  • When asked if you want to create a standard partnership or connect as a guest, choose standard
  • After the first synchronisation, follow pernica's sugestions...
