Using xtra's Secure Remote pop3 E-mail (SSL alternate port method) to download e-mail to i-mate SP3 over Vodafone GPRS.

Can anyone say whether it would assist efficient e-mail operation to install xtra's (Telecom NZ's) security certificate (manually) on i-mate SP3 Windows Mobile Smartphone 2003 Ozone update, SE?

I notice the certificate is installed in the desktop PC Eudora e-mail client's Certificate Information Manager as a Server Certificate. On the SP3 one cannot observe the detail of what goes on during the e-mail process; I don't know if the lack of the certificate impedes operation on the SP3 in any way.
