Game is great so far, driving around on the High Speed Ring with a fully tuned Skyline is so much fun.
Premium cars look so realistic and the amount of detail in photo mode is amazing..Surprised
I don't understand how websites reviewed the game so quickly, it gets so much better as you level up, win stuff, buy fast cars..etc. I've played so game a lot and I'm still finding out new things about it.

Most of them recieved their copies a week or so ago, but had to wait for online to be activated with the rest of us.  So they had some time, though it may not have been enough!

hey guys, like a lot of people here, ive been playing GT since the beginning, have absolutely loved the series. i gotta say, im not that impressed with GT 5, i mean, its great that its like most other Gran Turismo games, but i was expecting a "fresh" batch of cars.

i've found the range of premium cars, actually really really poor :(
Aston Martin: only the db9!!!! no dbs, vantage, rapide :( :( :( :(
VW: no sciricco, they have a golf gti but '05 model. lol!!!
BMW: none of the latest 5 series, none of the latest 7 series, no 6 series

i mean i could go on for quite a while, but to say that im disappointed would be an understatement. i actually think IGN were very generous in giving it 8.5/10

considering how long this game has been in development, there is no excuse.

most of the standard cars look terrible, and speaking of terrible, the damage(!!!!) all that time in development for a loose hanging bumper...hahaha

my rating out of 10? i would give it a 6.5

ok ive had my say, im off to get my final few gold medals in the special class license....lol

btw: does anyone else get a message saying that the date and time are incorrect?

Finished international B, going to try for A tomorrow, also done a few of the top gear stages, might try the Kart series soon and maybe Nascar

Apparently increases the number of online simutaneous connections from 500,000 to 1,000,000 and also brings some online restrictions like max power and weight.

Update is for the online play.

I'm up to the international A licence, done all of beginner, most of amateur and some of the professional races. I'm almost at level 12 or 13 on my licencing, and apparently Jalopnik has told me that "You don't start the game in GT mode with vehicle damage unlocked. We've been told once you reach level 20 (we're only at level 11), you'll get access to realistic damage including mechanical problems and then, when you reach level 40, you get access to simulation-level damage where parts can fall off and cars can be completely totaled. But, for the first few levels you get a bumper car-like effect that's almost comical. Instead of wrecking, you just sort of smack into each other and bounce off. It doesn't matter whether the car you're driving is one of the 200 "premium" cars or one of the 800 "standard" ones." so that's heartening.

Yeah, I'm on 14 now, the only thing that does get annoying is the "disqualified" if you get pushed ever so slightly off course by one of the AI who seem to always follow the line and never move.  Or if you ram into the back of them

I heard tehre was a trophy for winning a kart race backwards too? But I tried that on the 3 lap one, drove backwards straight from the start and got 1st and go no trophy :(

Has anyone managed to get Gold on the Top Gear special event? I've only manage silver on beginner and bronze on intermediate. Once you get gold you unlock the track to use in practice and arcade.

Got the game today :) (Wife had it hidden in the spare pantry where I never look)
45mins later (great timing...20mins to install ? Yeah right) finally got to play.

Enjoying it so far but dont like the way the used cars is setup.....find it quite hard to see the cars really, the GT4 way of doing it (single column) was so much neater and easier to work through.

Might give a review on my site once Ive had some more play time, but so far feels very much GT4ish, which isnt a bad thing :) But since GT4 dont run on slim PS3's....... ;)
