@reven I find it to be quite similar to RDR1 in terms of gameplay mechanics.  The levelling/health/loot/item system is a bit different, but in terms of movement and combat it feels the same to me.  The only thing that consistently frustrates me about movement is that when you're riding the horse through thick bush or trees, your ability to steer seems to be taken over by AI.

I've learnt the majority of crashes into trees/rocks happen because the game auto-navigates obstacles and trying to manually steer botches this up. Same thing with aiming unless you disable auto-aim.

The white arabian horse you can't lasso, you need to calm it to hop on. Once on hold the left analogue stick backwards (as if your walking backwards) and against the horses directions. I failed four times or so because I thought the prompt icon was telling me to click it in (L3).

I agree that the game is nowhere near a 10/10. Same clunky GTA controls and missions. Story and free-roam is impressive with the world they've built but consoles don't do the visuals any favours. Far too much blur and post-processing to cover up for lack of hardware.

Anyone come across anything spooky and/or weird in the Lakay/Lagras areas?  I was in the bayou at night in the mist and my horse freaked.  I saw a wagon with a turkey vulture eating a cow carcass so i shot it and plucked it, then went after my horse as it had run away.  As I was walking through the trees I could see a young boy running ahead of me, then he disappeared. The next thing I knew some crazy guy had knocked me down and killed me with a machete.  It was the strangest thing.  I've been back there a few times day and night and can't see anything again.  It's near a tiny church if you've found that.

Yup, some weird things go on there. Apparently you get a surprise if you look up into the night sky around there.

I'm struggling to get the white horse..

I get on it but he throws me every time.. just can't seem to hold on ok..

I've practised with other horses and I get them ok.. just this white one's a bugger to break..

Any tips?

xbox too btw..

Ive found that lasooing it and then trying to jump on is futile, even tho it seems to work on other horses. Have to do the calm it constantly as walking up to it thing.

Thanks.. that's how I've been trying it.. I did see on a youtube clip some guy did it that way..

However.. I'm willing to try it...

Do you guys know about cinematic mode hands free travel?  set a waypoint, go on a track and then go into cinematic mode and then tap run..

Hands free running to your way point.. so you can get up for another beer.. ;)

Just watching this new Coen Brothers’ movie on Netflix - very reminiscent of RDR2:

Mostly the settings - landscapes, towns, saloon bars. Also the characters and their clothing, weapons and horses. Partly the story-lines - the movie is a series of six short-story vignettes and some of these are similar to the feel of missions in RDR2. As I said - really very reminiscent.

I haven’t actually watched all of the movie yet - I’m about halfway through. Got tired last night and went to bed. Will finish it in the next day or two.

My saves are still saying 83 or so percent so I am guessing that I missed something that actually counted. Might do another run thru and do more of the white icon tasks since I was basically ignoring them. \

Did anyone manage to get into new austin before the "2 years later" part. Everytime I tried going in there it was insanly heavily patroled at that point of time, moreso than when any other part has dead or allive on it which I can freely wander around and only have the odd problem.

Verging on spoilers here - please take care.
