There are challenges for outfits in Rdr2?
I'm into the Epilogue Part 2 now. My playtime got a bit distracted over the last week so it's taking a while to get through the epilogues. They're a bit slow but getting better now. Loving the open world now though.
I haven't played it in a week. Got busy, but the burning desire to play it the way I get it with many other games just isn't there. Too many frustrations and interuptions in gameplay for my liking. It's like how the car mechanics in GTA4 made travelling places not fun, some missions are fun but a lot of the other stuff isn't as much, or isn't flat out.
IE I skipped playing squash for the first time in a year to play spiderman instead, but couldn't imagine it for RDR2.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I understand what you’re saying and tend to agree. Having said that, I’m taking it quite slowly and doing as many side missions and random encounters as I can find. Still enjoying the main storyline.
Have only recently got to Ch 4 and the level of detail - buildings, tramcars, etc in Saint Dennis is blowing me away. I was walking past a church at night and a clock started to chime. I checked the time and it was just last midnight so I counted the chimes of the bell. Twelve. Don’t know if this is deliberate but if it is, that’s pretty cool.
I am doing all the side missions too and random events. I find hunting a real chore, which in other games like Far Cry, and Just Cause and other games like it, was really cool. I like crafting stuff, but the work to find the animals let alone kill them for perfect state makes it less like fun and more like a chore. To the point I am trying to decide if I can just skip it and still get through the main game or not.
There's a lot of the mechanics of the game that you can just skip if you don't find them interesting. Hunting is one of them.

I've done the legendary animal ones as I have found them, except the fish one as I can't find the right lure/bait. I have found I can't really be bothered keeping track of the temperature of the areas I am going in, even though it does erode my health and cores.
Whilst this level of detail is novel initially, it's just a hassle to try and keep track of every little thing all the time.
I sound a little whiney, I know, but I had such huge expectations of this game, I just want to have some FUN.

Do you know about the autonomous travel using a waypoint and the cinematic camera? Doesn’t shorten the riding time but makes it easier and is pretty to look at.
The length of the ride is the issue :)

So why bother grinding through the stuff you don't enjoy, and just focus on the stuff you do enjoy?! That's what I did.

Well, I want to experience the game. I am trying everything, trying to give it a fair go. As my stats have improved so has my enjoyment of the game, and I originally underestimated how much that would help, so keep wondering if I do more hunting etc it will get better too.
Hopefully, the time will free up for me and I'll get some more hands on time, but unless Just Cause 4 is horrible, I suspect once it's released, RDR2 will be shelved for a while.
I haven't picked it up in nearly 2 weeks now as I've just lost the motivation to play it. IN the meantime however I have finished of the last of the DLC for Sniper Elite 4, and completed Spec Ops: The Line (a very underrated game). Both were fun pick up games, something I'm struggling with in RDR2 tbh. Will have to try and sit down with it some time this week and try again....or play God of War that I picked up for $49 from Mighty Ape :-)

Part of it is a lifestyle problem. It's not that easy to pickup and play for 30 minutes, have some fun. This is a reflection of what time I have free vs the game. Spiderman was brilliant because if you didn't have the time or energy for a 2-3 hour session, you could do fun side quests, or collect some and you'd be fufilled.
I may have a bit more time over xmas.
They're holding out on the RDR online coming to beta soon. They'd rather spend their time goofing around in multiplayer than pick up every last side-objective in the story.
