Oh really? That sucks..

I'm more interested in the single player and co-op part of the game though.. Verdict?

well its the best game ive ever played.
that is, online.

i swore for a good 4 hours and said "stupid #%$^&*@ laggggggg !!!"
i couldnt walk in a line without lagging inside a wall or in a heli (LOL no lies)

the zombie mode is boring on single player, complete waste of time. However online with 4 people, is the most fun i have found in a computer game for a long time.
people say "noob its boring you know nothing"
they just havent progressed far enough in zombie mode, to get to the real skill and nitty gritty.
personally i love the dogs that try to SLAY you.

single player i have a grudge against. there is no guidance.
im on a mission and all it says is "escape the compound" and "follow (some guy)"
so i follow the guy. he always nades the same barrel and kills himself !!!
yet i fail the mission cause im supposed to keep him alive.

im not a noob and have tried to shoot barrel first and run away and even blocked him. but the same thing happens. it could be a game error, or corrupt save.

on multiplayer, i managed to get 30 kills 5 deaths at 999 ping (the lag i was on about earlier)

even local users are high pings (700-999)

however it has been said that its steams fault. too many online buyers are downloading the game and glitching steam accounts and the servers.
however, when i downloaded my update, i was at 1.4mb/s on steam. so it seems steam is dedicating its bandwith/servers to people downloading, and then will swap to benefit the people playing.

multiplayer is the best gaming experience i have had.
its fast paced (CoD style) and treyark have done it perfectly.
my first contract was 7 knife kills (noob)
i got them in one match and was able to buy new guns and equipment with my currency.

the customization is insane and the levels make mw2 seem like playing paintball while holding hands.

spawn camping is impossible, you get owned, or spawn position moves.

also everyone complains about sniper "noobs"
yes ! i have seen it.

it only happens on search and destroy i have found.
the snipers, and levels and places to snipe are well balanced.
very well you can snipe, but i can guarantee you will die.

the so called "dolphin roll" is amazing. just for a laugh, its actually rubbish in combat if you dont kill them

im no hyped up "cod LORD" but the game really shows its core game in multiplayer.
even though my ping died at 999 and i couldnt aim let alone walk, i still managed to have the best gaming experience to date.

grpahics? direct x 9?
that is to people dont have to spend $5000 getting a new computer.
why are people complaining. its called , turn on AA and set everything to max.

id highly recommend to buy it, just wait until the steam servers are back to normal.

however, if you enjoy a challenge, start playing with the lag and i can assure you , you will still have fun. maybe even curse a bit :D

on consoles i have played it and no lag at all. awesome filter so your not playing some doughnut lord from usa.

gz ftw

couldn't wait for my UK copy to arrive so i went to the warehouse and bought an copy for xbox anyways.

i really like this over mw2 a lot. No lag what so ever on xbox live servers. I was getting my full 5 green bars. earning COD points is pretty hard and it seems like that even though you unlock an weapon, you still have to purchase it from COD points.

what's the quickest and easiest way to earn COD points?

Do whatever you want to do man.

yea after the huge uproar when MW2 had player hosted servers, many people either stopped playing, or didnt buy MW2 on pc.
now we have dedicated servers, which provide a place to play black ops with no host problems, stay there all day if you please.
however steam is overloaded so they are failing at servers this afternoon.
i went on a few mins ago to level up (27) and found most of the lag has gone.
funny enough some usa noob was complaining about his lag on a australian server and some other noob couldnt change his in game name (LOL)

billgates, points and currency and what not. its simple.
my advice, complete challenges and have a contract on the go (all the time) for extra currency.

basically when you get up a level, you unlock stuff. in order to use the "stuff" you have to pay for it. simple? yes, good.

so i advise you to select 2 weapons and level up a lot.
i use a scorpian with rapid fire, and dual nov's.
they are level 1 or 2 weapons, but are ownage. funny enough i get more knife kills than anything else.

the ol' dolphin dive into knife always gets em. or if they rush you, jump over top, 180 spin, knife. they die, you survive.

so yea, strong advice, select a few guns and worry about purchasing when your a higher level and have some decent things.
currency is easy, do contracts, gamble it online (more u risk, more u win), and get a high position in games.

i have played for 2 hours, and have 40,000 currency. im not bragging, im just saying "its possible "

goodluck and hope ur enjoying B ops

gz ftw

Hmm the multiplayer does sound tempting... The highest rank you could get in MW2 was level 70 (Commander) what is the highest rank one can achieve in Black Ops?

Oh also, what is all this talk about contracts etc? Sounds quite different to how you levelled up in MW2...

50 is it? Sweet! I'm not interested in prestige's, requires to much time..

Bountypure1 I may have to buy this and come in kick your arse online ;)

MP seems to be excellent now that the lag is gone. Tongue out The killstreaks are one of the only big annoyances left. Seems to be a definate lack of campers, hackers and tubers.

contracts are useless.
the rewards you gain are nothing that will shock the boots of your feet.
i earn my living appearing in the top 3 regularly.

i love it without campers and losers.

@tracer, if you love camping, play search and destroy.

lag is gone, good game all round.

there is a black ops boycott on steam with 1 member ROFL !!!

@tracer, if you love camping, play search and destroy.

Quite the opposite, I'm loving not having to deal with them.

Bought Black Ops yesterday and so far so good but this game certainly does not measure up to Modern Warfare. The major thing I noticed was the graphics and sound seem to be inferior to previous (Infinity Ward) CoD titles. Singleplayer is alright so far (upto the 4th mission) still not as solid as MW1 or MW2 though.

Zombies on the other hand is a huge amount of fun, especially the bonus arcade zombie game!

As for the online multiplayer for Black Ops, I haven't played this yet but as soon as I clock the singleplayer (hardened) campaign I will be giving this a shot (literally) :)
