*Some spoilers - I haven't finished it yet so no spoilers past Pittsburgh :) * I just wondered what peoples thoughts are on The Last of Us. I never played it on PS3 so grabbed it for the PS4. Game of the year, why wouldn't I buy it, yes it is great but there are some really annoying flaws I have found.
1/ Companions are stupid - I did the mission where you have Bill and Ellie as companions and they were constantly running into infected and making noise without a single attack from the infected. Another instance I went for a stealth kill and Bill just fired off his shotgun alerting lots of infected.
2/ Companions get in the way - A few times I will be sneaking past infected and move across a plank only for Ellie to stand in front of me, meaning I had to go back across the plank for her to follow and I could go around.
- I guess some kind of companion control would help, maybe the ability to set 'aggressive, defensive and passive'.
3/ Guns - I find there's never any bullets and when there is, it is quite difficult to aim even with the sway perk so end up wasting a lot.
4/ Battle / Enemies - I found it a little unrealistic at times, for example the part with the guards in the Capitol building. I sneaked through most of it only to get spotted and overwhelmed so for fun I decided to punch all of them and see how long I lasted. To my surprise I wiped out around 7 guards through just punching them and they had guns.
5/ The Story - I haven't finished it yet so please no spoilers but so far the only emotion I felt was when Joel lost his daughter, the rest has felt rather dry, when Tess died it didn't feel like a blaze of glory, there was no emotion, it was very 'meh'.
