*Some spoilers - I haven't finished it yet so no spoilers past Pittsburgh :) * I just wondered what peoples thoughts are on The Last of Us. I never played it on PS3 so grabbed it for the PS4. Game of the year, why wouldn't I buy it, yes it is great but there are some really annoying flaws I have found.

1/ Companions are stupid - I did the mission where you have Bill and Ellie as companions and they were constantly running into infected and making noise without a single attack from the infected. Another instance I went for a stealth kill and Bill just fired off his shotgun alerting lots of infected.

2/ Companions get in the way - A few times I will be sneaking past infected and move across a plank only for Ellie to stand in front of me, meaning I had to go back across the plank for her to follow and I could go around.

- I guess some kind of companion control would help, maybe the ability to set 'aggressive, defensive and passive'.

3/ Guns - I find there's never any bullets and when there is, it is quite difficult to aim even with the sway perk so end up wasting a lot.

4/ Battle / Enemies - I found it a little unrealistic at times, for example the part with the guards in the Capitol building. I sneaked through most of it only to get spotted and overwhelmed so for fun I decided to punch all of them and see how long I lasted. To my surprise I wiped out around 7 guards through just punching them and they had guns.

5/ The Story - I haven't finished it yet so please no spoilers but so far the only emotion I felt was when Joel lost his daughter, the rest has felt rather dry, when Tess died it didn't feel like a blaze of glory, there was no emotion, it was very 'meh'.

i just finished it for the first time in the weekend.

the AI is the really really dumb, they shout and run directly into the clickers.  amazed this got released like this.

also on the PS4 i found if you pan the camera the NPCs do a kind of ghosting/doubling up thing, looks horrible.

the game is good, and i enjoyed it.  i didnt have problems with ammo/shooting.  but those 2 things keep it from being really great IMO.

it is really pretty though.

I found the mechanics of the game to be average at best, however it was the story that kept me playing (much like the Telltale Games Walking Dead game)

I thought the game was good and it looked amazing. I have played though it twice already and took 501 pictures using photomode.

Agree with what most are saying. Played it for the first time over the last couple of weeks.  Story is incredible, but AI is hilariously stupid.  Found myself often telling Joel and Ellie to shut up.

Definitely up there with the best games I've played though.

Playing it for the first time on PS4.  I think I'm close to the end.

Pros:
I love the story
Graphics are great
Gameplay is well balanced and varied

Cons:
AI of companions is a bit dumb

Overall:
The best adventure game I've played in a long time.  Right up there with Ocarina of Time.  I can see why it won so many awards.

Friend bought it and we played it from the beginning together when it first came out. The story didn't really grab me and I found it quite boring to be honest. Never bought it myself.

Played it for the first time last week on the PS4.  I enjoyed it but would have preferred more action and less cut scenes.

Currently playing it on the PS4; not a huge improvement over the PS3 version, but it does look good and it’s great to play again after almost a year. There are lots of bits I forgot about. The story is awesome; Joel feels real, unlike Aiden on Watch Dogs.

I actually like the scarcity of ammo etc, it makes it more challenging. I got stuck in a difficult section of the sewers with two rifle bullets and 3 pistol bullets and must have got killed more than a dozen times before I cracked it.

It’s not perfect (AI issues) but it’s a really great game, easily one of my favourites. I’ll probably play it through on survivor difficulty next.
