Ive had a bit of a play but the horrible UI for building is just making it such a chore.

 

Its really annoying that they have such a trash UI just so it is constant between PC and peasantboxes.

For me the elevators and gun racks can now complete some redesign of my fortification's.  Haven't or see the need for contraptions as yet when I get bored may look at these.

Couldn't be bothered with that stuff - the game is good enough without it. Agree that it's poorly implemented. Even found the other building mechanic - eg building generators etc - a bit of a PITA.
