I really enjoyed D1, despite getting very average reviews initially, to their credit they fixed so many of the issues and it ended up a great game.

I have been playing the D2 beta on PC. There are a lot of graphical bugs but gameplay is pretty solid so far. I preferred the original snowy setting, I am surprised how much I miss it. The graphics are really something despite the bugs.

Based on what I have played so far, I'll definately be buying this.

One thing that is frustrating, is they do maintenance between 8-12pm at nights for us, the time I would usually play!

I'll probably play tonight and then knock it on the head till 2-3 weeks after release when the reviews come out and the dev team knock some of the more major flaws on the head. Will help that the price might drop too. I have so many games on the go right now.

Yeah I'll be picking this up day one. Getting smashed on the lvl 30 missions at the moment by Black Tusk. Slightly missing some of the D1 weapons which are now semi-automatic only.

I don't tend to fire any weapons for very long because of the drift and death of accuracy. I'd have to be very up close and personal to do that.

A couple of the bosses were pretty tough going, one of the early missions I had about 9 goes because they would send radio controlled cars indoors at a lab and then once you dealt with that a big ass boss came and took you out. I survived the last time by possibly having 3 health left.

Was a good challenge though.

I sometimes struggle to work out, even in D1, if a weapon is 'better'. The green indicators are decent indications I have found it occasionally hit and miss.

I really liked D1, but, I hated the dark zone.

playing through D1 is fun, and joining the Dark zone in early levels is even more fun, but once you hit a level where there are other PVP players (basically max level) it loses its appeal fast. I really hoped that they would have a version of the dark zone that wasnt PVP but they havent done it. In D1 there is the west docks, or whatever the zone is called, which is meant to be non-pvp dark zone, but it just isnt the same as you dont have to evac your loot while fending off high level NPCs (which is where the fun was). The winter setting was super atmospheric to me, D2 just makes it a bit too far cry for my liking. I dont feel like they have made significant enough improvements over the first game to warrant calling this a new game....its more like an expansion level for the first (I played through alpha/closed beta/open beta).

As well as timing of maintenance windows, I also didnt like crafting in D1 as I never found it useful, or the expansions....in NZ you sit in a match making window forever  that never gets enough people to start a game and, other than underground...the one expansion that is playable, I have never played the other expansions even though I paid for them because of that reason. Some of the game modes are borderline impossible to solo.

I got 65 hours out of D1 so I still think it was money well spent, after gameplay level max was reached...it rewards you by obtaining 100% collectible items to build a full view of the story of how the current situation came to be.

BTW, I have a key for the base game of D1 and the survival expansion that I got in a humble bundle....as I already own the game I dont need it...if you want to give the game a go feel free to message me and you can have it for free.

Yeah I finished the main story in D1. I went into the DZ twice, I don't really like PVP interactions in games much so it wasn't really something that worried me.

Ended up trying the open beta for an hour so. Actually quite enjoying it. Much more than the first game. Runs really smooth on my rig a mix of high and ultra settings at 1440p.

I'm playing Beta on PS4 and impressed with it, despite a few bugs that will no doubt be ironed out. Have pre-ordered. Lots similar to original and a familiar feel, but lots new as well.

I am enjoying this game. I don't love everything about it, but on the whole it's very D1!

How do I get the extended magazine?

For which weapon? Pretty sure most mods are obtained through completing projects for the settlements. (Rather than go to the settlements to complete them, you can donate to them from your map screen - browse the option on the lefthand side of the main map).

Are you PC or console?

For any PC players out there, I am assembling a clan of NZ based players (might accept some Aussies too).

Currently we're a mix of former WoW/SWTOR hardcore raiding types who have gone a little more casual in our old age.

Looking for all types/playstyles to join us.

We're currently running Heroics, CP3+'s and a little bit of DZ activity. At some point we will have a look at the raid when it comes out.

Mostly about having a goodtime rezzing each other endlessly.

Well after minor surgery Friday, I spent a fair bit of the Friday and weekend playing D2 and am now Level 20. I am really enjoying the game, pretty much as much as D1. I am not much of an online gamer, as I don't really find I have time to be competitive enough, but have joined and will give it a go, remove me if I don't have the required skill level :)

This is the first game in a long time I want to play,

At work, I want to play,

On the toilet, I want to play

Sleeping, Im dreaming of playing

My group and I are loving the game, I said the other day, even with some of the major bugs its probably one of the best releases for a while, isn't it a shame this is the benchmark of a good release these days.

Even if you are low level your stuff scales so you can still play with friend who are end game.

I'm going to noob myself past judgement

I am the same actually, and I was the same with D1. I have decided I really like loot shooters.

Borderlands, Division and other games of their Ilk.

Excellent, always good to have more people.
No requirements on skill or level, should always be someone around in the evenings if you need help/a group to run through something.
