Has anyone played Civilization on Facebook yet?

Im not sure whether its the same as the PC ver, any feedbacks??

From what ive read, the idea behind it is similar but itll be dumbed down quite a bit for the FB market.

I remember when it came out on the Amiga...... many wasted hours :)

Personally it looks awful, they've cartoon'd the graphics up and basically made it a farmville style game.

If they'd taken the play by email concept in Civ IV which was pretty popular and for some strange reason isn't in CiV V and made a proper version of the game in flash or sliverlight or even html5/css3/canvas which then was play by facebook for each turn I would be all over that.

Great for a FB game, really bad for die hard fans. Accept it is working out of a web browser so credit to how much they have achieved.

I have played it a couple times and it is not as addictive as I had hoped, the game is very social focused on gaining achievements and research etc, which I havent quite worked out to fully optimise.

Also I am still trying to start a fight with someone! But no idea where / how you go in to battle.

Cant even connect to it.... keep getting "sorry server not responding, try again later". Ill stick to my Amiga emulator and play the original ;)
