Ended up getting the Vigor 130 with the Snappernet firmware. However, I can't seem to get it into bridge mode or PPPoE passthrough mode.

I noticed that DrayTek has more up-to-date firmware available on the website, but the mentions here about using Snappernet's firmware have put me off upgrading.

Can anyone lend a hand into figuring out how to do bridge mode in VDSL?

Update to the latest official firmware, supports bridging.

I've had my DV130 up and running for over a month now no issues. PPPoE pass-through working fine, connected for 22 days no issues.

Set the VLAN tag to 10 for the VDSL part, click Ok.

I didn't bother entering creds into the shot below, simply because I'm not using it... Also unticked the "Always on" option, to stop it trying to connect.

Tick the "For Wired Lan" under PPPoE passthrough then click ok and restart (that annoys me about this modem... all changes require a restart!)

EDIT: friendlier photos.

Did you select a specific Annex version of the firmware or was STD fine?

Doesnt appear there is even an option to choose between annex builds... http://www.draytek.net.nz/draytek/downloads/

I downloaded mine from here: http://www.draytek.com.au/downloads.php?type=Vigor130 originally... I cant remember which file I selected though... Will have to throw it over to the forum.

Mine is the australian version, so may be different from yours.... what region does yours say it applies to on the side of your box?

Thanks for the tip. I was looking in the US version of the website. Will give that STD firmware a go.

Box is gone. ;)

No dice.

Upgraded the modem but couldn't get it to passthrough PPPoE to my Netgear/DD-WRT router. I was able to randomly connect using PPPoE from my Mac while directly connected to the modem, but it seems to suffer from bad memory. On every other reboot, it forgets the VLAN Tag Insertion value. Will test again tomorrow when no one is in the house.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Scratch that. Finally got it. Reset to factory, re-did all settings EXACTLY as per your screenshots, then it worked. Had to reboot twice for the VDSL Tag insertion to save.

Might be best to do a factory reset - I usually do this with all my modems/routers after a firmware upgrade.

Make all the required changes (I was told to change the VPI/VCI to 0/110, though it says that only affects ADSL??)
Then make sure you can connect just using the modem (not doing PPPoE passthrough). At least then you can rule out the VDSL configuration on the modem.

Make sure the passthrough is enabled.

Make sure you enter your details in ddwrt as username@snap.net.nz like below;

I've been looking for a solution to put in front of a fortinet. Ended up getting (yesterday) the Draytek 130. It's my first Draytek and quite honestly it's been a horrible ride.

First off they sync speeds are less than my TP-Link (but then I got the tp-link as it was supposed to be exceptional for sync speeds). However that was just the beginning - I've had constant reboots, failed Web Gui firmware upload (after much much pain I ended up using TFTP on a *Nix command line to fix), now has latest firmware on it, thought it was solid for about one day but now it's just rebooting again. I suspect that this is exasperated by particular config changes such as syslog and DoS that seem to trigger an endless cycle...

I don't have VDSL as thats actually a disadvantage on flat rate plans (except potentially for upload speed) so this is plain on DSL2+. Gave up tonight - swapped back to reliable TP-Link (hands down best 'DSL' router ever had to date (Ethernet router was good ole Linksys with DD-WRT ;)) - but didn't their standard fimware suck...

Even did a factory reset on it. I don't know maybe it's faulty, maybe a ton of these are faulty in a batch but it hasn't been fun.

If you have a Fortinet (I don't know enough about them, excuse my ignorance), why enable DoS on the modem?

I bought always with the thought that I'd put it into bridge mode then forget about it. And it's been solid since the initial setup (which, granted, was a little painful).

Hi folks

Sorry being the total n00b here, but I have just got a Vigor130 to replace my 120. I was about to update the firmware, but there appears to be four files on the site. STD, modem 1,2,3.

For Snap, which one do I use? I'm on ADSL2 at the moment, but we'll be on VDSL when we move house in about a months time.

Thanks

Nic

Forget off the top of my head, but probably best to grab firmware from NZs supplier Snappernet.
