I have a Toshiba M2 laptop with integral bluetooth. I installed the bluetooth stack software followed by the bluetooth monitor software from the supplied CD. With the monitor installed the Microsoft bluetooth software seemed to work but I wanted to use the Toshiba software. I de-installed the monitor software and re-installed the bluetooth stack software but this does not work properly. Colleagues who have the same machine as me have got it working by just installing the stack and going into Control Panel/Bluetooth Local COM which then configures a whole lot of virtual ports. This does not happen for me - I just get COM1 and COM3.
Device manager shows just 2 bluetooth devices 'Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator' and 'Tosbiba Integrated Bluetooth 2' and there is nothing under USB for Bluetooth.

When I run Bluetooth Manager after re-installing the stack, and go into Bluetooth Settings and then try and add a connection it tells me that the Bluetooth is not ready even though I know I have had it working under the monitor.

I don't want to have to re-build my machine to fix this - any help much appreciated.

Here is the description which makes the Toshiba BT stack to the default one:

-------------------------------------------
Download the latest Toshiba Bluetooth Stack from the following URL:

http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/directlink.php?snr=2

Click also on the according readme file to get more information.

Turn of your Wireless switch on the notebook if you have internal Bluetooth.
Install the downloaded Bluetooth Stack. Continue the installation also if some message
appear which warn for unsigned drivers. Reboot and turn on the wireless switch again.
Start "Bluetooth Settings" from the "Bluetooth" program folder. It turns on BT.
Complete the installation. Now you should see an blue antenna icon in the sytem traybar at
the buttom of our desktop. Just double-click on it to start the Bluetooth hardware wizard
or use the mentioned "Bluetooth-Settings".

By the way there will be a big antenna icon on the desktop, which you can use for file,
picture or business card transfer.
If you use also WLAN than make sure that the suitable antenna is on. Use the Fn and F8
keys to check if Bluetooth antenna is on.
