Hi guys, this is my first post!!

I got my UX50 last week, and I'm extremely pleased with it! I can hotsync using the cable, but thats a pain in the ass, so I have been trying hard to get the bluetooth hotsync to work, to no avail.

I can hotsync my T610 with outlook fine, and have a serial bluetooth port set up on COM 9, i have activated the hotsync manager, and checked the 'serial connection' and also set it to COM 9 in the settings too. When i go into My Bluetooth Places, and try to add a connection, the only services it recognises for my UX50 are OBEX object push and Image push, not serial port.

The dongle is a rubbish Wavelink affair, and i had to mess around with the drivers to get it to work....

Any advice would be MUCH appreciated!!!

Thanks

Dan

Well, I can't figure it out.

I've got Intellisync set to synchronize my outlook data. I've got the device (UX50) visble in my bluetooth places, and its properties set to allow PIM synchronization, but the error message on the device is "The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check our setup and try again."

The ux50 connects succssfully to the PC but I still get the hotsync error message as above. My PC is identified in the ux50's trusted devicesand everything else seems copacetic but I can't get this sync to work. Help!

thanks.

I had to set the com port up manually for it to work. Go to bluetooth settings, and see which com port is assigned to the UX50 for serial connection, if one isnt there, then add a new one, and note down the number.

Next go to the hotsync manager icon on the task bar, right click and hit setup. go to the Local tab, and set the com port to the same as found in the bluetooth settings window, hopefully this should work (did for me!)

Hope that helps

Dan

Thanks, I have messed with the COM port settings to no avail. I've just gotten this UX50 a day ago so I have a lot of stuff to sort out, e.g., bluetooth internet, wifi internet, etc.

Fortunately, I could easily sync with IR.

Best of luck. It does require lots of playing around to get it all set up, and i'm not the best on computers but figured it out.

Its a great toy when you get to grips with it, i've got mine to sync via bluetooth, connect to internet through my PC bluetooth, also play MP3 full movies on MMPlayer, WIFI internetting is cool and also use it as GPS in my car too, so i consider it a good investment :)

Cool. those are all things I bought it for and inted to use it for once I crest the learning curve. I can get a good bluetooth connection but haven't figured out the right network setting to actually use the shared connection.

You have to configure the Hotsync to listen on the Incoming COM port defined on your computer. Check this guide for instructions.

Yes, thanks, Maurizio. I've done that still no communication. I successfully synced with bluetooth on my home machine, but not to outlook. when I installed Intellisync Lite on my work machine, I could the device to connect to the computer but after hanging for a bit, I got the error message on the device that I posted above.
