I have a SE T610 phione and a dell laptop w built in bluetooth adapter running XP (not SP2). I can get the PC to pair with the phone, I can get OBEX File Transfer and Object Push to work OK and I can pass around individual contacts and calender stuff.

However I cannot get synchronisation to work. I have read and gone through both the articles on this site that deal with sync via IRMC Synchronization and via SE's XTND connect but with no joy. IRMC Sync fails at the start with msg "Could not create working folder" and XTND connect (or more precisely Phonesettings) fails to see the phone. The latter seems particularly strange bearing in mind that the phione is paired and object push & file tfr both work fine.

I have tried unistalling and reinstalling SE's comms software and also tried running everything whilst logged on as adminstrator. This changes nothing with XTND connect, but IRMC Sych gives a slightly different error msg and still fails.

Any ideas?

hi there,

also having a bit of a mare getting this to work. evntually managed to get them to speak over bt if manually started serial link first (after enabling and reserving the bt serial com port). now starts to sync when i click 'syncronise now' but never gets farther than the 'reading status information. slow sync mode' pane. after a while either the phone displays the hourglass and cuts off, or the computer gives an 'unable to connect, please verify phone connected' message.

looking at the my bt places and the connection symbol on phone they are always actively connected.

what gives? tearing my hair out.

pete

i never got synchronisation to work via 'my bluetooth places' or via xtnd connect.

however i did get it to work using Floats mobile agent, which is pretty cool bit of software, so cool in fact that it reminds me of the stuff my Mac does as part of normal operation (!!!!)

http://fma.sourceforge.net/

However at first it didnt work and I had to correct the script file as detailed in

http://fma.xinium.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2214

and then open up serial ports

good luck
