HELP REQUIRED - BLUETOOTH DONGLE DRIVERS:
Now in my 9th hour I am beginning to think that it may have been easier to stick it out with my usb cable versus the opted bluetooth dongle route for my Nokia mobile.
I am not a techie ... but know how to follow directions. In literally my 9th hour of struggle, if anyone is able to come to my rescue, I would be trully grateful.
I have follwed all the directions in the below thread, installed ... plugged etc ... all gone ok up to the point where I plug in my usb device ... I follow the directions to allow Microsofts (recommended driver install) ... this ceoms up with no options and device consequently does not install correctly.
This implies that I am unable to to the section on the DEVICE MANAGER (Right click etc)
I also tried from the auto hardware detect wizrd to find a driver. No succes here ... it is almost as if the XP service pack 2 I have does not have a driver that I can install for this device? Rather puzzled as I went o the Microsoft site, did all the updates etc for the XP SP2.
These were all updated already so no problem here.
So, in summary I have done everything as follows:
******
Don't plug in the Bluetooth device yet.
If you have any Bluetooth software apart from the included Windows drivers installed, deinstall
them and reboot. I am not sure if this is necessary, but just in case.
Install the WIDCOMM BTW 1.4.2.10 Bluetooth software. When it asks you to plug in the
Bluetooth device and click OK, don't, and click cancel instead.
When the WIDCOMM setup has finished, plug in your Bluetooth device and let Windows install
the driver. (There should be two Bluetooth icons in the system tray; one blue-white: this is the
Windows driver - and one blue-red: this is the WIDCOMM driver which is deactivated.)
******
I get no device installed ... and not able to go any further.
I am running out of hair!!! ... and don't prove to be a technical mind, however, have succesfully managed to do all my other various hardware installs and customisations flawlessly ... so hoping that this is not an oversight on my part ...
Any assisitance (the more basic the better at this point) would be greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU ;-)
