Sir, you probably realised that the headset profile on widcomm/csr based Bluetooth adapters is only available from version 1.3 .

Alex,

Have you tried using the BT guides on this site for detailed set-up? Also, which PC adapter are you using with the Widcomm drivers?

If still having problems, please post more details on problems you are having.

Yes, I tried BT-Guide "How to configure your desktop/laptop to use the Bluetooth headset (M Freitas). ". But I cant go through it since I cannot choose "Connect headset". Instead of this there is "Available Services" (but there are no services for the headset).

I have the Acer Travelmate 800 with built-in CSR USB Bluetooth device (CAmbridge Silicon Radio, V 525, HCI and LMP 1.1

What driver version are you using? The Headset profile is only available from 1.3 and newer - and it's dependent on the manufacturer. If Acer decided to disable it, your computer will not recognise the services.

The driver version of the crs usb bluetooth device is 1.3.2.7

If its disabled by the manufacturer: How can I check this? Is there a way to enable it?

Thanx a lot,
Alex

How about this....

What I am planning to do here is to setup my Jabra BT200 headset as a cordless headset/phone connected to my notebook. The phone line is connected to my modem so that I can make phone call from the notebook and have voice conversation on my Jabra BT200 headset.

I have tried "How to configure your desktop/laptop to use the Bluetooth headset" (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/click_thru_content.asp?ContentId=449&URL=content.asp?contentid=903) and I manage to get the voice transfer from my notebook to my Jabra BT200 headset but not the voice from Jabra BT200 headset to the notebook.

I did set the Sound Playback/Recording and Voice Playback/Recording under the "Sounds and Multimedia Properties" to Bluetooth Audio but the result is the same. Any idea on this....

Window XP Pro
WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software 1.4.2 Build 10
Mavintec Bluetooth USB Adapter (http://www.mavintec.com/product_bt_usb.eng.html)

If you have the Volume Control icon on your System Tray you can double-click it to open the application. If not open your Control Panel, double-click the Sounds and Multimedia icon and select the checkbox to show the Volume Control.

Once there, select the menu Options | Properties. Use the radio button to select Recording. You should see something like this:

Make sure the Microphone input is selected.

Couple of questions:

1. I'm not familiar with your hardware, but if you say it's CSR, I'm assuming it uses the Widcomm drivers? What version? What operating system is on your pc, etc.? This info. always helps others to provide better assistance.
2. Assuming you're on XP, in control panel, sounds and audio devices, check both audio and voice tabs to ensure recording settings show "Bluetooth Audio". Sometimes these don't automatically change over after connecting your headset with pc.
