The instructions of Philips Hue does note that they are not designed to work in outdoor environments. Are you planning on leaving it outside permanently? I'd be interested to see how they last.
They're pretty well sealed (no open ports for ventilation etc) so I don't see why it should be a problem so long as it wasn't exposed directly to water.
In my case I think the bigger issue is their sensitivity to power surges. Mine started off working fine for 2-3 weeks but then one of them started flickering and turning off randomly so I replaced them all with standard screw lights (which also flicker).
One of the things is that they may require clearance around them so they don't overheat. A philips LED bulb I have says not to use them in an enclosed fitting, and if using them in downlighters, for it to be at least 3 inches in diameter, which I guess is to prevent it overheating. They do get really hot on the base where the electronics are.
