Hi everyone,

I have reset my paradox alarm SP6000. (as this came with the home and was never used by me)

I have set the time, users and the codes. but when I arm the alarm, the siren does not goes off.

I have the feeling that I missing to configure the Chime zones.

There 3 zones from what I can see on the control panel , but I cant figure out how to configure that.

I found some instructions on this website http://www.bkgrupe.lt/uploads/docs/Apsauga/Instrukcijos/Instalerio/Paradox/Magelan/MG5000/MG5000SP6000.pdf

Any ideas how to configure the chime zones? or is there anything else that I missing?

my control panel is the same than this one

Cheers

If you want a Chime zone you usually just press and hold the zone number on the keypad.

for the siren i would check to see what its wired in to, it should be wired in to the Bell output but it could be wired in to PGM1, if that is so you will need to program pgm 1 as the siren out put

I pressed the zone numbers but still not working, the siren is connected to the Bell and not PG1

my guess is that the 3 zones I have needs to be configured somehow in the control panel.

Pressing 1 then 2 then 3 for a few seconds gave me a response bep but before I do that should I have to log with the master pin? or the installer pin (default 0000), there must be a sequence to follow but I cant find it anywhere  :-(

Have you assigned the zones to an area and also programmed them how they are to work as in instant or handover and so on?

Hi,

thanks for your help, I just tried with no success what you suggested however most likely I'm not doing this well.

this is what I did:

Step 1: ok

Step 2: ok (in my case I have 3 zones, so I entered 001 for testing purposes)

Step 3: I entered 05 as I want the siren to go off instantly (maybe this is incorrect?)

Step 4: everything is on partition 1, so I entered 1.

Step 5: Here could be my problem. what should I have to enter if I only want the siren to goes off as soon as one of the sensors detect motion?

Also I noticed the the motion sensor 1 always shows a flashing red light, the other 2 shows green flashing lights, this must mean something as well.

Cheers for your help.

ok so for an instant on zone 1 you should:

Enter

0000 or 1234 (installer code)

001 - (Arm and Stay lights should be lit)As soon as you have entered 001 it will take you to the input programming so the first 2 numbers are the zone definition.

08 -(Instant) the keypad should beep twice or three times cant remember Now you can enter the partition number

1 -(Area 1) the keypad should beep again a couple of times and you will be moved on to the next step zone options

1238 - Should be lit

Enter once you have hit enter you will automatically be moved to zone 2 (002) so you can just press CLR a couple of times to get you out of programming

If your doing all that correctly it should just work as they are pretty bullet proof in the programming area.

The light on the PIR will turn on when it detects movement.

And the numbers on the keypad will light up accordingly to the input that has been triggered.

ok thanks for that, there is one motion sensor that goes red instead of green (the other 2 are green) so something is going on there.(about the red one) I will fully test tomorrow. hopefully i will have some luck.  thanks

I have managed to configured the zones and they are showing ON on the control panel. I arm the alarm waited for a minute but still no internal or external siren sounds.

so far I have done these:

-Set up users codes

- set up the time

- set up the zones

tested, no success.

Is there anything else that I missing?

Is there anyway that I can test the internal and external sirens? for example can I disconnect the internal siren and connect it directly to the battery and see of this goes off?

I attaching three photos, one showing the alarm zones, the second one the alarm is armed but sirens are not working and the third one is the PIR that for some reason only flash red (the other 2 flash green)

go to programming go to 706 click 2 to select EOL resistors (enable) thatll stop then being on solid like your pics above, when you walk past them they should turn on and off on the keypad not stay on solid, to test sirens put neg in aux negative then tap or put in the positive in aux + and youll know if they work, in zone definitions youll want then as entry 1 or 2 and instant zones not follow, as for the motion detectors they have a different sensing to others like the dsc lc100 motion detectors which just have a on/off senario, the digis work like full motion pickup one colour and half motion pick up one colour etc, anything else just ask

your welcome, 706 not 702 don't worry about the panic fire, medical and police buttons, another way to test sirens too tho if you activate them in 702 then hold them for 2,3 seconds, if your stuck in the weekend just message and youll get help

Hi Everyone,

the alarm has been configured tested and working fine  😊

I just would like to ask for how long the siren will go off? is the siren going to stop after 5 minutes? 10 minutes or will never stop until someone entered a correct code?  can that be configured?

Cheers
