While I've got a Ring video doorbell and my house is firmly in the Amazon camp, I might wait until there are some alternative home security drones to choose from.

How long before its available in New Zealand

Put all the breakable stuff away. I know people with object avoidance technology that doesn't stop them knocking things over.

I'm holding out for an ED-209. New and improved obviously.

Maybe a future versions should have attack capability and / or multiple drones working together.... think of it as the merging of 'Terminator' and 'Gulliver's Travels'

I was in a conference call with Amazon Australia/New Zealand earlier today.

While the Amazon Echo Studio 10, Amazon Echo Dot (sphere) models and the new Amazon Echo (sphere) are coming to New Zealand soon (waiting for press release), the Ring drone and the Ring car cameras are US-only at the moment and seem to not be in the plans until at least next year.

My neighbours swear by their DOG-1. Beats any drone in terms of performance and ability to detect things, typically before they even get into the house.

Yeah, we have one of those, goes off on detection, but once someone is in, it turns off and goes back to sleep mode.

All the way from 2016 when I saw this first idea.

Will be interesting to see if this version will be common, considering the commercial backing.
