When I first set up HA, both my Samsung phone and tablet were added, no idea how it was accomplished. I have just changed my phone so I removed the integration for it. I still have the integration for the tablet showing but how do I get the new phone to appear?

Thanks.

Have you downloaded the app on your phone?

Yes and when I go to Integrations, Add New Integration  on the phone and try to add Mobile App I get "Aborted. Open mobile app to set up the integration with Home Assistant."

I would have thought that Mobile App would already be integrated (give that it was working before), and that your HA instance would pick it up if it's connected to the same network.

Yes it is but I thought I would have to add it again for the phone but that is obviously wrong.

At the moment it say "SM-T580 (Thats my tablet)

                                Mobile App

                                 1 device and 17 entities"

You open the app on your phone and the first time it will log into your home Assistant instance and add itself. It's all done from the phone app.

Except it doesn't. I have  HA app installed on the phone and it functions fine but the phone just doesn't add as a device. I have tried re-installing the app but no change.

In the app go to app configuration on the menu of the app on the phone and go to device registration. You can change the name in there and add some sensors. See if that sorts it.

Thanks for that. When I go to App Configuration, Device Registration, Device Name, it is showing SM-A715F which is my old phone. When I change it to my new phone the change does not stick. When I go back into Configuration the old name has returned.

I think you should completely remove the app and start the wizard again on the phone and use a different device ID during the setup.

Following on, I have now re-installed the Home Assistant app on my phone. After setting up Duckdns, in the App Config setting of the mobile app I have put in the Duckdns url and can connect to Home Assistant from outside my home wifi.

Under the Internal Connection URL I put https://x.x.x.x:8123  but with wifi switched on, I cant connect to HA.

If I use a browser I can connect via the internal ip address. Is all this normal behaviour?

Regardless, when I go to Config, Add Intergration and try to add Mobile App I get "Aborted. Open the mobile app to set up the integration with Home Assistant." which is exactly what I am doing.

Any advice on what I can try next?

Thanks.

Have you put your home network WiFi SSID details in?
