I have been partially flooded tonight and have only partial power. I note that there is an RCD on the switchboard and it's it's in down position. I have tried both up and down but no power. There's is also a small button that can be depressed but that doesn't do anything either
Can anyone help

The RCD has tripped for a reason. You need to wait until everything has dried out and then get an electrician to check everything out. You could have a build up of silt in a switch or socket.

Check for any powerstrips or extensions or even whole appliances that are wet and unplug those, then try turning it on again.

Up is on, down is off in modern switchboard gear. There should be I (on) and 0 (off) markers.

Does the RCD trip immediately when turned on (clicks and bounces back to off), or does it stay on but no power? Is anything else tripped?

Can we get a picture of the board?

If the house has been flooded then any electrical equipment that was under water needs to be checked before it is relivened. Your insurance company would expect that and would probably pay for it.

Hi Guys
Thanks for your help. I powered all the circuits off switched the RCD back on and then brought the other devices back on. It's all going so thanks.
I am going to bed the bottom half of the house is full of mud and water. My car filter up with water through the floorboards I guess then the pay of the western pulled the central out and the car floated away from the garage. The car lights came on and have been burning fir last 4 hours. I cannot turn then off so will worry tomorrow. Not sure car will survive the flood

Just be aware that sometimes the top of the hill can move to the bottom of the hill
