Hi all.

I think if I update HomeKit on my iPhone and iPad, it will ignore my old Apple TV and also iPad to do the smart home connection to Arlo, Hue etc. I don't plan to buy a new Apple TV or HomePod.

My question is: Is Thread smart enough yet to stitch this together and have the Echo 4 be the back end to Home Kit? I could try it, but suspect its a one way journey….

TIA

Mark

Do you mean move to the new Home architechure? This is the requirements for a home hub. What Apple TV do you have?

Thanks - as per that link - is the Echo 4 a “or a supported third-party border router”.

It’s the HD Apple TV so wont work.

Pretty sure the A1625 works fine as a home hub if that's the one you have. No thread built in of course. Just add it to a room and it becomes a hub automatically.
