The Technical Support Representative is responsible for handling first level support of service requests.  This relates to all technology, to include: workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software. This is an entry level position within CNS Technical Support Services & has a specific career path within the Services organization. The position can lead to Systems Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, Technical Team Lead, Field Engineer, and Pre-Sales Engineer. The successful candidate will go through training on the job.

The role responsibilities include:


  • Resolving Helpdesk/Support calls.
  • Research on in-house test platforms.
  • Research via Internet resources.
  • Research via technical documentation from various sources.
  • Liaison with sales partner support staff.
  • Telephone/email/online contact with customer IT Dept and end users.
  • Remotely troubleshooting and supporting systems across the globe via the internet.
  • Liaison with project team.
  • Providing some in-house technical support of local systems/PCs.
What we're looking for: A motivated and knowledgeable engineer with strong knowledge/skills in areas listed below:


  • Bachelor's degree or Technical Institute qualification in Computer Sciences, Telecommunications or relevant field or equal experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge in troubleshooting/administration/support of Microsoft window based applications, infrastructure and Voice Networks. Experience/knowledge with Installation and troubleshooting of Win 2003/2008,2012 AD, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VMs, Voice networks.
  • Fluency in English is a requirement.
  • Advanced Diagnostician, Able to do advance troubleshooting that spans multiple subsystems.
  • Must be able to multi-task, including successfully working simultaneous projects/issues.
  • Must be able to handle pressure when required for critical situations.
  • Good communicator and team player.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
  • Excellent phone manner.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and meticulously.
  • Must hold a valid New Zealand driver's license.
