Hello everyone! I’m new to this forum thing and am not sure yet how they work so I’m going to give it a shot and ask my question and post a screenshot and see what happens. So I have been being hacked for over 5 years now and I know who is doing it and I’m pretty sure I know why. Anyway, I have tracked her work for long enough and I need to technically link her to doing this hacking and have her prosecuted. I’m not tech savvy so I’m not the best person to have do this so I’m reaching out to you for help because you have much more knowledge about this kind of stuff and I need guidance in this area. So I was going through the security events on my gmail account and I saw the log of the devices that had accessed my account. Everything looked normal until I came across a device that I didn’t recognize because of the IP address along with the browser that it’s giving as the browser that logged into my account. I don’t have Mozilla on my phone and never have but this shows that the login was from Mozilla. I told you that I didn’t recognize the IP address and I am only on my cellular data so I know what’ mine is kinda. Anyway I have a screenshot of the security event and would like you to take a look at it and tell me if what I’m getting from it is the correct information or am I just misunderstanding it.. I appreciate your help and thank you for your time and your patience with me and being new to this way of reaching out.

Sincerely ,

Kimberly Garrett

Hacked or they know your password to login? Sounds like to me you know this person so why not change the password?

Factory reset the device and change ALL passwords and logins including email.

EDIT: do not reinstall from backup!

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Just as a sanity check, "Mozilla" is otherwise known as "Mozilla Firefox" or sometimes just "Firefox" Browser

Do you have the Firefox Browser on your phone?

Without knowing what you are looking at it could be that you are not looking at the right information.

Google 'user agent' to see what I mean. Others will be able to add more information, but odds are when you look at your own user agent you will see Mozilla followed by your OS then browser.

Supplying screenshots could help determine what you are seeing, tbh though this will not likely help in prosecution unless you have other evidence.

I've personally not seen a browser on my google security account page called 'Mozilla', Mozilla Firefox is listed as Firefox.

Also in gmail, under details, Mozilla Firefox is listed as Firefox.

Yeah, as above, it'll be the user agent string which almost all browsers send with Mozilla at the start. Try your own:

Or see a list:

http://www.useragentstring.com/pages/useragentstring.php

Pretty much all safari versions do it too, including ios versions

http://www.useragentstring.com/pages/useragentstring.php?name=Safari

(a vaguely amusing commentary on why: https://webaim.org/blog/user-agent-string-history/ )

Thank you everyone for your knowledge and advice. I have changed my password to my gmail and all of my other accounts numerous times but while I’m doing it I will be getting another phone call from Google with another password change request. She gets into all of my accounts no matter what I do. I have seen files on my phone that says bypass authorization in the string or whatever it is. I am using an iPhone now and I have my gmail logged into my browser so I can keep up with the search history and device activity. No I do not have Firefox on my phone either. I would love for factory resetting my phone to work but she still gets access to it somehow. In my previous phones I would factory reset it and it wouldn’t delete everything and I would still have the unrecognized files on my phone. The person doing it is an ex friend who is also a computer technician and is obviously way more tech savvy than I. Again thank you for your knowledge and input and I would appreciate any more that you have to offer after this reply. I have been dealing with this for over 3 years now and believe she has been doing it for 5 years. I don’t know if she has access to my iPhone or not yet but am looking for signs that she has if she has. I have contacted Google, Microsoft and Apple because she is a developer or has a school or business account through them. They have told me how to secure my account but it doesn’t work with her. I am at a loss of what I need to do to keep her out of my accounts and devices. So anything that you could offer me would be helpful and much appreciated. Here’s the screenshot of what I saw. It says that I need to post this url to add the screenshot to my post so here it is. I hope it works.

Sincerely, Kimberly Garrett

The simplest solution would be to enable two factor authentication (2FA) on your google account, the problem is instantly solved. It is 100% impossible for this "person" to access your account when you have 2FA enabled unless they physically have access to your phone and launch Authy or Google Authenticator on it.

Personally I think you're chasing your own tail, and this "person" doesn't actually have access to your accounts considering you've changed your passwords multiple times. The user agent string in your screenshot is the normal one for Safari, it's not Firefox, so you're just showing us your own mobile devices user agent string browsing your own Google Account.

It'd also help if you didn't do one continuous wall of text as it's quite hard to read

I apologize for writing so much and making it hard to understand. I have two step authentication set up on all of my accounts but just a month or so ago I had a favorites list added to my Google account and it was obviously made by her because it was her name with an acronym FATS in the middle of her first and last name. I didn’t put it there and I know that she is accessing my accounts whether you think I am chasing my own tail or not. I would appreciate it if you could be tolerant of my newness to this kind of support and not immediately tell me that I am not being hacked because I am 100% that this is going on. It would take me too much time to explain it all to you but I am positive I am. Again thank you for your knowledge and time you have given me and I will take everything into consideration. This is another screenshot that I took of an IP ADDRESS that I looked up that was signed into my account.

Sincerely,
Kimberly Garrett

Go to this page to find out how to logout your account from all computers and mobile devices. The go to the page I suggested earlier and disable all app access.

This should stop any third party access - if you have 2FA then no one else will be able to login again.

Perhaps you should take your devices to someone who knows what they're doing to secure them further for you?

If someone was indeed hacking you wouldn't it be in their best interest to do it covertly? Why would they create a favourites folder in their name? If it was that obvious then surely it would warrant a police complaint?

The fact of the matter is, the screenshot you have provided does not prove that Firefox is the browser, it even states Browser (Safari) of which contains Mozilla in its user agent string.

Edit: It's also not possible for an IP whois website to tell you what browser or device the IP address might use. Also just to let you know, this site and users predominantly live in New Zealand whereas I see you live in America, there's only so much advice we can give you on this

Have you considered "moving house"?

New phone number (sim card), new email addresses, new Google account, new facebook account etc.

Just as you would when you move house and change address, tell the people who need to know, and not those that don't. Clean start, with nothing to connect you to your ex.

Just a thought.

Forget it. You and your condescending attitude towards my questions are enough and you have nothing to offer me. The answer to your question about why she would put her name on the favorites list is something that I can only guess about and my best guess is that she is rubbing it in my face that she has been doing this for at least 3 years and she as well as myself are smart enough to know that that would never warrant a police complaint because they would probably tell me that I could have put that list there myself because I could have but would never waste my time telling anyone about it if I did. That’s just not me.And your response to your comment about that website not possibly being able to tell what browser the IP address is using, fp look your IP address up on it and see if it gets yours correct and besides that part that has no merit, the IP address is NOT MY IP address and that’s what matters. Wow the nerve of some people. Disgusted...

Kimberly Garrett

I'm well aware that the website is capable of displaying the browser I'm using because it obtains that information from my user agent string, however it's not possible for it to tell you what browser any IP address is using.

Out of interest can you tell me what browser 1.1.1.1 is using from what website?

Fact of the matter is you're completely ignoring logical explanations and choosing to believe you're being hacked. From the screenshots all you're showing is your own devices being used to access your own google account.

Anyway, I'm out.
