I was browsing the internet on my Iphone, then it froze. The phone would not respond to anything I tried for at least 5 min. Then suddenly it started working fine again. Except that it no longer syncs with my computer. I download podcasts onto Itunes on my computer, than sync it with my phone. No only does it not synch new podcasts, it removed the ones already on the phone.

Any ideas?

That indicates you have tried to do a factory reset. I assume that what the others were thinking of was just to hold the Home and On/Off buttons until you saw the Apple logo. You may have to just wait and see if the Restore/Update completes.

Looks like you thought hard reset (fully shut down the iPhone and start it again) meant to factory reset (resets to when you first bought it, deletes everything) the mobile.

make sure you are using a decent USB cable or the official Apple one.

The version on Wikipedia won't be the one you are have your on iPhone.

Try using a different cable if possible, is still giving you problems, try a different USB port, if still not working uninstall and reinstall iTunes.

Also note the iPhone 5C is old, and unsupported now. I'd recommend considering updating it to a later model which runs the latest version of iOS.

Thanks for the attempted help guys, unfortunately due to my own stupidity i misunderstood what you were saying. I got my Phone in 2013, more than 5 years is a good run for a phone these days.

Try the steps here (https://support.apple.com/en-nz/HT201263) for manually putting the phone into recovery mode and see if it helps. You may have to leave it connected to the computer for a long time while it tries to put the firmware and iOS back onto the phone.

Edited because it really helps to put the link in if you want someone to follow instructions there :D
