My brother asked me to unlock his 3g iphone which he bought in the uk..

So I used quickpwn after restoring the phone with itunes and when I put the sim card in I get no signal nor will it call out.. the jailbraking process seem to work ok.

then after some research I read on the dev-team-blog

"GOLDEN RULE: If you have a 3G iPhone and want potential soft unlock in the near future do NOT use QuickPwn, and do not use the official ipsw or the iTunes update process without using PwnageTool."

Woops.. I did not do that.

So just wondering if anyone else did this also?

I take it I need to use pwnagetool on a Mac which I dont have to unlock the phone?

update... I updated the baseband to 02.30.03 which I think cannot be downgraded from yet? Thats probabley why/how I broke it.

update 2... so you can downgrade your baseband but only with bootloader 5.8 and I'm running 5.9
should of re-read the instructions even though I've done it a number of times!

Cheers,
