hi folks

nearly was late for my 5am sign on this morning!

Alarm didn't go off :-(

Settings are as follows:

Alarm icon shows next to battery indicator
Alarm shows ON on the Alarm screen
Silent switch on side is NOT activated
Volume slider in the Sounds section in Settings ALL the way to max
Alarm sound shows as 'Theme from Taxi'

When i use the countdown timer, the sound works - it's just the alarm function that seems inop.

Thoughts? I'd love to replace it with a shiny new iPhone of course but that just not happening short term.

Cheers all and Happy New Year!!

My iPhone 3G alarm didn't want to work this morning either. This happened last year for some users, too.

Should hopefully work tomorrow :/

Hang in there for a day if you can, heh.

Hi - yeah. there have been a few hiccups on alarm functionality - usually at daylight-saving change over time. This could be a New Year issue... just to be safe tho', it'd be good to re-set a newly set up alarm and choose a different sound. This may have been caused by a syncing issue and maybe the sound file didn't sync across correctly, or maybe the sound volume has been turned down within the clock app (the volume settings are not applied globally across different apps.

Cheers,
Mike

It won't by the looks of this article
http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/01/psa-iphone-alarm-clock-not-working-again-time-to-update/

Hey, remember that madcap time last year when iPhone alarms didn't work on January 1st or 2nd? Still having the same issue this year? Well, you might want to think about updating. We're seeing a flood of reports from users whose alarm clocks are not working again this year, but from what we're able to tell that's because the affected users haven't updated their devices past iOS 4.2.1. If that includes you, dear reader, now would be a great time to tether yourself and click your way through whatever iTunes recommends. There's a whole new major version out there waiting for you! That said, if you're still enjoying your iPhone 3G, we're sorry to say 4.2.1 is as high as you can go on the iOS food chain. Maybe 2012 is a good year for a new phone?

Working again today.

I'll set a reminder for 31 Dec 2012 to tell me to have a backup alarm ready for 1 Jan 2013 :p
