In a way I bet they are wishing they didn't build the battery into the device, and the battery could be easily switched out, like in old models.  I stopped buying samsung after they moved to built in batteries, because I like that option of being able to replace the battery, and you can also have a spare to pop in.

Yes it is the replacement as well, at this stage I am not sure if noels will accept the return, might pay to give them a call and point them to https://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/help-and-support/mobile/your-phone-or-device/samsung-note7-recall/

It has been updated to include the replacement devices

Hi 2degrees

For those of us who bought the phone on a $49.95+ plan and got the Note 7 Case as a bundle, when we swap down to S7 Edge, whats instore for us?

1. Are we going to get a replacement for the Note 7 Case with a S7 Edge Case?

OR

2. Are we going to get the VR Headset that is currently the bundle with S7 Edge?

Hi @ibuksh

1. Yes. They will get a new screen protector and LED case for use with their S7 or S7 Edge to replace items they would have received in the Note7 bundle. They can also keep the wireless charger, car charger and 128GB SD Card.

2. No. If the customer received a $200 Accessories Bundle with their Note7 they will not get the VR Gear if they swap to a S7 or S7 Edge. They can keep the accessory bundle as mentioned above.

Further to this, we have sent a text message to the approx 1,100 customers that we know have an active Note 7 on the network advising them to back-up their device, power-down and return it to the store to have it replaced or refunded.   Some customers may also receive a similar text from Samsung.

UPDATE - Samsung have additionally confirmed that they will offer a $100 credit to Note7 customers who switch to a new Samsung S7 or S7 Edge which will be applied against their MRO or added as a discount an outright purchase.

Regards

Hi @eracode,

That's our 'Mobile Repayment Option' where you pay a minimum of $29 upfront for your phone and pay off the remaining balance over 24 months interest free on top of your Pay Monthly plan charges.

More info - MRO

Cheers

I went to the St lukes Branch . The store manager there didn't want to give me a new phone  ( S6 Edge) until I cough back out the bundle accessories.

Because its a new phone I had to return the bundle accessories.

So I had to drive home, Grab the Lcd screen protector, the wallet case, Ask my friend for the car charger back , grab the USB C cable that came with my note , grab a charger from my Galaxy S6 then drove back to st lukes. ( I gave my note 7 charger away to a friend).

They kept saying it was the process that they want the accessories back but I said no. At the end they even took my 128GB memory card . I had to spend $50 at Noel Leeming to buy a 64GB SD Card and now I have to look for a car charger .

Luckily they let me off on the charging stand  otherwise it would be humiliating in asking a colleague back for the charging stand .

They say if I don't give it back they will charge me for the bundle.

Very unhappy with St Lukes. The old store manager was better.

I'll never never never go to St Lukes Branch again.

You definitely did not need to hand back the memory card - that's wrong and appalling treatment. It was a gift from Samsung and their Note 7 recall/cancellation notices make it clear that you can keep it.

I returned my N7 to VF Albany yesterday and gave them only the handset itself - kept box, earphones, charger, cable, adapters - everything - and they didn't mention or ask about any of that stuff - let alone the card. (After my heavy criticism of VF earlier in the recall, yesterday I got outstandingly excellent service from VF Albany - but more about that later).

At the very least you should be given your memory card back and IMHO @2degreesCare needs to 're-educate' staff with a size 12 hobnail in the posterior.

Did you get the $100 consolation credit that Samsung NZ recently announced for all Note 7 owners?

I'm not sure about the $100 as it wasnt advertised on the day that I went. It was the day after that samsung announced the $100 credit.

I'll have to check with them when the bill come thru

I wonder if they took my accessories for personal use?

I would love my memory card back or credit me an extra $50 for the trouble 2degrees?

I'm not going to the branch again and start an argument.

Thats really sad that you went through that horrible experience

I went into Sylvia Park store on Satruday and the lady incharge - although she didnt serve me, she spent a quick 30 seconds to re-educate her staff who probably wasnt too sure of the process

And from then on - it was a breeze and yes I did return the phone in box with charger & headphones and all but kept the 128GB card.

Also as per the post from @2DegreesCare, I returned the wallet case & screen protector (Note 7 is dying and no point in keeping it)

And they gave me a like for like for S7 edge - exactly as mentioned by @2DegreesCare in the earlier post.

Overall, the process couldnt have been more hasslefree

A big Kudos to the lady in charge at 2Degrees Sylvia Park - I would recommend her a gold star if I could

@Salami, can you PM us your number including your mobile number so we can follow up on this please?

You should have been able to keep the bundle as explained above as you were sticking to Samsung. Our store manager at St Luke's says she didn't serve you and is keen to put things right.

Regards
